Eve Launcher not working

Hello everyone. Well, basically, as the title suggests, the launcher is not working. I open up the launcher, it tells me Tranquility is online with x amount of users, and when I click play, it acts like it pushes the button, but nothing happens. I've tried using the little wrench thing up top to clear cache, try to start it in safe mode. Tried to reset Launcher settings, nothing is working.

Ive ran the repair tool from the CCP folder, it said it fixed it, but still nothing. Tried launching the repair tool from the little wrench thing up top, and it doesn't launch the repair tool.

BTW, the computer is not the issue. It's a brand new gaming Asus, I was playing EVE on 2 clients just last night, even on my older computer (2 generations older), when the launcher acted up, it still launched within 2 or 3 minutes, on this, no dice.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Clear cache and settings and try again.

If the launcher starts, it has nothing to do with the Launcher. The eve client is most likely not able to start up because of corrupted settings/cache. Perhaps you've changed resolution on the screen or something similar.

I'm going to bump this, since I'm having the same issue.

It started, I believe, sometime over the summer, but I just launched the game from the exefile.exe instead. Today, I re-installed the game (had to move drives anyway) and the issues still persists after two re-installs, deleting, the relevant folder under appdata, running repair tool. Anything else I can try? The play button "presses" down, but nothing after that.

EDIT: To clarify, launching from the exefile.exe still works.

I would try and quantify it out.

Copy the game into an external u.s.b. drive (need around 14 gigs space). .
or
launch the game from a guest account
or
launch the game from an new non administrator account
or
launch the game from an new administrator account
or . .
Then of course there is the case of windows 8, that has a forum on its own :
https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=169577&find=unread ;
or
Then there is the cases for badly kept hard drive,
to whom there is an on board solution,
called scan disk and then defrag..
these following steps show how to scandisk and defrag on a windows 7:
find "my computer" ;
right click "local disk (c:) " drive ;
choose "properties" ;
select "tools" tab ;
select "scan disk" (also known as -> ) Error-checking -> Button says "check now" ;
press "start" (2 options, top 1 selected, 2nd one not selected) ;
pc asks to "Schedule disk check" or dismount drive ;
Should it ask to dismount ;
say no. Then it . .
Should it say "schedule disk scan", click that.
reset.
20 minutes.

same as above,
stop in tools tab,
select defragment now,
choose the same drive you error checked " . . . (C:) "
press "defragment"

the less you do in that pc, the better it defrags.

all this is built into windows, 100% free.

Should this have helped, pay me back by likeing this post, then you don't owe me nuthing.
