Tengu low sec/null sec/WH Exploration - What can it handle?

Whatup everyone

I have recently returned from a long break, and as I'm still logging on 5 days in, making spreadsheets for all sorts of none sense for no reason other thing curiosity, I'm betting I'll be hanging around for a few months this time around.

So, I'll have to find something to do and I figured I'd try my hand a exploration since its something I know very little about, and its intrigues me. However I'd like to try and solo my way through it, at least until I feel up for to committing to new group of people, and I heard rumors of that a Tengu, can handle itself pretty well when probably fitted. I found this build on an old thread for example:

Tengu Defensive - Amplification Node
Tengu Electronics - Dissolution Sequencer
Tengu Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
Tengu Offensive - Covert Reconfiguration
Tengu Engineering - Augmented Capacitor Reservoir

5x Heavy Missile Launcher II (Scourge Heavy Missile)
Covert Ops Cloaking Device II

2x Invulnerability Field II
Photon Scattering Field II
Republic Fleet 10MN Afterburner
'Copasetic' I Particle Field Acceleration
Gistii B-Type Small Shield Booster

Damage Control II
3x Ballistic Control System II

Medium Capacitor Control Circuit II
Medium Warhead Flare Catalyst II

Now my question is; In terms of exploration, explained to a complete nooblet on the subject, what can this thing handle? Also if you were to refit it, how would you do it?

Beyond that, any and all rambling on exploration is welcome.

I would recommend a probe launcher of sorts to find the sites :)

are you talking high, low or null- sec?
some sites in high sec are restricted, im not sure if any are restricted to lower than cruiser? But if its high sec a tengu is very overkill imo.


ive been looking ot refit my tengu, i usually use a covert ops frigs with scanning rigs, its worth having the bonus to strength as they will be easier found. But my fit will have the emergent locus sub instead as it has bonus to scan strenght (10% pr. skill level). I sacn in low sec, and carry the covert ops sun with me if i need to go to unknown territories.

so the fit im looking at has the following subs.

Amplification node
emergent Locus analyzer
augmented cap reservoir
acc. ejection bay
fuel catalyst
this gives 3 low, 7 med and 6 high.
I like cap stability and omni tank, so i will fit 2xcap rigs and plug the explosive hole.

Lows:
3x balistic

meds:
2xpithi c-type small shield boosters.
fed. navy 10mn ab
invul II
gist B-type EM ward field
cap recharger II
1 yet unfitted

highs:
5xHML II
1x sisters expamded.

I scan in low sec, and have only once warped out of a sight (with a slighlyt different fit though), due o webbing towers- webs is the tengus worst enemy.

will carry the covert ops cloak with me when i travel around and if needed i will dock and refit. with this fit i might to carry 2 subs, usually i carry 1 sub and cloak. but i need to find out if that will work or if im carrying too much stuff with me.

if your new to scanning i would reccomend starting with a covert ops frig and learn how to scan first. Remember to create a filter for the cosmic signatures you want.
