No we're not. For all that we may need carebears to produce ships for us, there is nothing that any single carebear or group of carebears can do to stop us getting them, because other carebears don't give a **** about you and will relish the opportunity to sell with less competition.

It'd take an unrealistically large coalition of carebears to even make a change in the prices, let alone dry up supply altogether.

If you'd show me a picture of a Myrmidion rocking 5 Ogre II's, then I'd rage and feel Sad
But lol@ the OP. Indeed, gank or bump, mining will continue, AFK or not. Long live Liberty of Play for casual gamers! Smile

While I'd like to believe in a perfect world that suddenly all of Nullsec just exploded, and all the carebears quit, I'd have to say you are wrong. Considering the very recent insane price spike in a couple minerals, I'd say a couple very wealthy carebears decided to manipulate the heck out of it. There are some carebears who are capable of sucking a market dry for the short term, and it takes a few days for the manipulation to come back down as other carebears adjust their production lines. There is enough isk in this game that no market (even Jita) is invulnerable to manipulation and artificial scarcity.

I'm only a part-time market player and I manipulate on a regular basis for a few bill a pop (which the MD forum would call tiny beans).

The problem with defending the purity of the English language is that English is about as pure as a cribhouse [lady of commercial virtue]. We don't just borrow words; on occasion, English has pursued other languages down alleyways to beat them unconscious and rifle their pockets for new vocabulary.- James Nicoll

AFK mackinaw miners ARE bitter vets. They are like a virus infecting our game, they expand and use up our resources, eventually destroying the entire ecosystem and themselves (aka, noone buys PLEX with real cash anymore).

Last part = not true. I've bought plenty of plex.

Actually, if there was 10 times as many miners in EVE and they all used PLEX for gametime, ships would be incredibly cheap (so many minerals) and PLEX would be incredibly expensive, ergo people would actually sell LESS PLEX than they did previously (as selling one PLEX would get you months worth of ships).

awesome

you have frien.. errr.... alts... ;)

:p

most of my pics are of stuff blowing up because explosions are so pretty in Eve

Well, and my shiny ships, so I can print em and put em on my coffee mug :P

Otherwise I just do my "firsts" like, first time through a wormhole, first time in a Domnix etc - so boring for anyone other than me

I "raged" because spread your fleet the **** out. You're gonna be mining the same rocks in pretty short order if you stay wadded up like that.
