If you get rid of autopilot how will I find time to read the forums?

So that while I'm hauling stuff through hi-sec, I can go do my laundry or make a sandwich etc.....

Strong case OP. I would love to spend more time moving my junk around empire and less focus on the real world as a semi productive adult.

Because it's useful and because there is no reason to remove it.

Also auto-pilot is the best built in navigator you can get... showing you a route to your destination and you can make a choice to let the ship follow the route automatically or fly manually only using the route as a guide :-)

You do understand I'm not saying remove Set Destination?
Just Auto Pilot.

fuckit, CCP are ignoring me anyway.

Highsec.

Using it in nullsec is suicide, and it's inadvisable in low.

Reminds me of a friend who used to autopilot haulers through 0.0 and into low sec. He actually got out and to his destination unscathed a few times to our amazement. We should have made an event of it and placed bets.

Yes, because CCP have responded to every single thread on the forums - except this one.

So they are intentionally ignoring you in the hopes you go away.

Hmm, maybe the rest of us should try that.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

EVE gives you enough rope to hang yourself, plus a few feet more.

I only AFK empty. I'd never expect to arrive if I was AFK with valuable cargo.

Whenever I do have a loss, I blame myself and not other people nor game mechanics.

Autopilot is just functional enough that your average risk-averse player will use it instead of significantly better, EULA-breaking alternatives.

But if autopilot were removed its current users would not go back to manual piloting.

Auto pilot is a great way to get people playing the "truck drivers" of Eve Online without having to spend all that time behind their pc. They are what makes the market fueled, be happy.

Besides that, who doesnt love to go afk while traveling 40 jumps through highsec and come back, savely arrived at your destination hours later? ^^

You want to make highsec more safe by removing features used to AFK in highsec?

We are through the looking glass now. Smile

Speaking of AFK game play. Lets create a Scenario.

Suppose I am multi boxing and I have a character logged in to lets say Uedama III and another in, oh I don't know, lets say somewhere in Deklein?

I have a guy running fleet booster in Deklein, he doesn't need to be paying attention, he's behind a POS Bubble so he can watch his Uedama char and see if anyone is trying to Auto Pilot through the system in fat old freighters. He see's one and a bunch of his buddies, all running anoms in Deklein can flip to their dual boxed AFK account and go out and kill the freighter.

Isn't that really just using AFK to get more out of an otherwise boring game?

If they removed Auto Pilot, the game would still be kind of tedious but those guys multi boxing Deklein and Uedama would now have to chose. Do I sit on a gate in Uedama and kill freighters the hard way or do I sit in Deklein and do Anoms?

Sounds like Win- Win because we don't want those nasty AFK people in EVE, do we?

This information is still hilariously wrong. Despite Powers SA actually telling everyone exactly how we do this, people still have no clue.

I know how you do it.
I don't want to stop you from doing it. That gives you an EVE is becoming trammel soap box to climb up on to. I want to make it harder.

You seems confused between making things harder and making things more annoying.
