ASB's and Cap Transfer

I was watching the tourney just now and one of the commentators mentioned that one of the pilots using an ASB was getting cap transferred from another ship, and therefore was able to use the ASB even after the internal cap charges were expended.

That seems weird.
I checked in EFT and no capacitor activation value for the module is mentioned.
But in game a large ASB shows up with an activation charge of 380GJ.

So is the commentator correct in the fact that if you are provided with adequate cap transfer, you can run an ASB without internal cap boosters?

Go back to EFT and remove the charges.

Yeah, I had a closer look at EFT and can now do some calculations based on ingame stats as well.

An ASB with no charges will RAEP your capacitor though.

Yeah, was running the math though......

My skills, assuming I get a large regard cap transfer from a Basi, and with my MWD off, I can run a Sleipnir for about 4 minutes.
But just over a minute with the MwD on.

Still, if you have that kind of support, and going into a short fight, it might be an option, but under pretty strict conditions.
I haven't done PvP for a long time, but might be faced with it in the near future, and am examining all kinds of options.

You should also factor in neuts if you havent already (and your own cap using modules if you havent).

If you have Basilisks on grid you probably also get shield transfers incoming, so that sort of defeats the purpose of bringing Basis to run ASB I believe.

Indeed, I understand the question of why use internal repair when you have RR available.
But I am just flipping around some ideas.

Makes you good in an armor fleet. Guardians cant help you since you dont armor tank, but they can feed you cap til the cows come home since they wont be using reppers on you if you are self-repping.

you can extend the 4 mins by adding cap charges - just don't forget to turn off automatic reloading hehehehehehe.
