They already show up if they're in the cargo. If the item is being worn it's sadly (and bizarrely) indestructable.

Dear CCP!

You'ar about to make some changes in killmail sysytem anyway, so can u please add killmail id in the text of mail? same number as we have in API system. like row killID="19825588" in xmls. and add it to mail like

2011.10.20 08:23

MessageID: 19825588
Victim: Text example
Corp: Deep Core Mining Inc.
Alliance: None
Faction: None
Destroyed: some ship
System: somewere
Security: 0.0
Damage Taken: 1068337

it will alow us to find duplicates much easy then now, KBs rigth now check if it alrady have mail by comparing name, time and ship type. so for example if i drop 10 shuttles from my carrier and then u smartbomb them, u will have 10 exacly same mails. KB will reject all exept 1, ID field will solve that issue.

thnks.

Simple, yet strangly satisfying knowing how much that guy spent on implants. Might actually make pod ransoming make a come back. You can check to see if it's worth killing the pod or ransoming his life if he shows a nice history of expensive implants...

Nice work here CCP. Yet another good peice of news to add to the realism of the game! :)

It's a good step even if it is a small one...

Now, make killboard stats count for something. Integrate them into a new war mechanic, make them count towards nullsec sov. activity... something. There are so many pilots in EVE who could care less about killboard stats because they really do not matter in game play. Those same pilots could and would make a huge impact in the pvp environment IF the stat made a difference in their daily EVE experience. Carebears are people who like to build (among other things) if stats were used as a positive impact on their corporations and alliances, you would see how efficient they are at utilizing a new source of salvage.

+1 as well. Might be good to make it an encrypted ID number as well so that we can have a checker system to verify the mail is legit. but I'd only let the people who make these sites know how to confirm the check digit. This way we won't have fake kill mail posts as often and no more dupes. TBH, (and for those of you who make money on these killboards you'll have to forgive me) but I think that CCP should maintain it's own killboard that will auto pull from the main system as kill mails are generated instead of relying on users to post mails and to maintain them if in fact you support these sorts of things. I know it takes a lot off your servers by allowing users to maintain these sorts of things, but if we're going to be using them in disputes then it's only fair that we make sure the real mail is being posted and not some modified mail...

Yep, record time, about a year and a half :p (was raised by yours truly in june 2009 :p).

That said, huge thanks to CCP Masterplan for overcoming the technical limitations and making it possible

Lack of implants was never the downfall of pod ransoms. In fact, with the implants on the mail, I do not see any reason why people should not ransom & kill anyway even more than they already do. Nice ransom and a juicy mail on top.

Even after 316 pod mails, it's never too late.

Cargo and ship scanners, good for piracy, and for deciding on ransoms.
Now we need pod scanners to determine a good value for pod ransoms.

Not so bizarre. You're naked or in a skinsuit when you're floating around in your pod. You only wear NeX things while mucking about in station. How you magically manage to bring your entire wardrobe with you station-to-station is another matter entirely, though.

For the sake of staying on topic...

Awesome change. +1

Nice feature. Now how about a brain scan module that shows me a pilot's current implants BEFORE I kill him?

There isn't any profit in knowing that kind of info since you can't harvest blown up implants, so what would be the point of it?

A ship cargo scanner at least has a purpose in letting you know what sweet candy is in that pinata, if one were so inclined to such acts of piracy and mayhem.

What about scanning pods for ransom purposes? maybe a pod scanner like the ship scanner that can see the implants in the guys head??? or **** it just enable the ship scanner to do it

+1 to the lol what.

Although a verification API would be nice. Given two arguments kill_ID and kill_Hash it would simply return true or false. Even something crappy and cpu efficient like MD5 would suffice.
After all, if someone launches a 2nd preimage attack on a killmail to get on a titan kill, let him have his 15 kilobytes of fame.
