Ok, first off, I've been gone for awhile and never had my own corp. In my corp's HQ, do I need to RENT an office to be able to store corporation assets there? I've read some very vague information surrounding this which made me think NO. However, when I try to take personal assets and make them corporate assets, I am unable to find the corporate asset storage in our HQ. I feel really dumb here and am beating my head against the proverbial wall.

any help?

I'm referring to an NPC station not a POS.

Yes you need to rent to actually get corporation hangars to store stuff in.
HQ is just a placemark. I usually put it 2 regions away from where I actually live in case some fool wants to "camp my headquarters" :P

Basically, what Louis said. Place the HQ wherever you'd like to indicate to someone you operate out of. Having your HQ where you actually run your stuff out of (or at least, nearby) helps with the in-game recruitment tool and prevents wild goose chases. Placing it halfway across the galaxy is a "first line of defense" for people who don't want to be bothered, but it is by no means definitive. Locator agents are always far more reliable at tracking someone down than looking up the corp HQ (and they're not really expensive at all).

In addition to the above, note that each station has 24 offices. If all are taken, the monthly rental cost will increase. If two or more are unused, the cost will drop.

Thanks all. I happened to pick a station with MOST of the offices rented... probably why the cost is so high. However, I also just figured out how to sell items that benefit the corporate wallet. So, anything I mine/harvest/trade and sell, is increasing the corp bank... which is what I wanted to do to build up the corp for now. thank you all for your guidance it is appreciated.

You may not need a corp office to be honest. You're certainly less appealing to AWOXers and Infiltrators if you've no corp assets worth stealing.

For now, I agree as it's just a 3 person corp right now and only 1 of us plays regularly. For what we do now, I've figured out how to make the corp money while selling items and that's what I was missing... i could care less if it is stored in a corporate hanger for now, though someday that might be useful as the other 2 members level up but for now, it's not a big deal.

thanks again all for your help.
