If I blow up a war targets capsule in high sec does anything happen to me besides the sec status hit?

If they are a war target, you dont even get a sec status hit. Your allowed to pod war targets

If they are not a legal target, you take a massive sec hit and will get concorded

It's not been nice, but thanks for using lube

If you dont know enough about the mechanics of war, then please assume that you will be the one that gets podded Twisted

What if they're an outlaw? Or if they have GCC and they fly by in a pod? Can you pop em then? I've been wondering this for a while.

In high sec the only "allowed" pod targets are war targets or outlaws (-5 or lower sec status), the rest ( standing, negative but above -5 sec status, GCC or whatever) is NOT an allowed target and will get you concorded.

Actually GCC is allowed to be shot at, though CONCORD will likely win from you in high-sec.

But for both GCC AND Outlaws (-5 or lower sec status) counts SHIP only, NOT the pod.

Kill the pod and YOU die by concord and get heavy sec status drop.

Is that so ? I think I remember one of my pupils popping a red flashy pod in highsec with no ill effects (and a massive bounty payout). Then again, that might have been lowsec, it's been a long time.

"red flashy" as in outlaw (-5 sec status) sure, but if he's above -5 or isn't a WT then you're not allowed to podkill. You CAN point&shoot the pod but you're not allowed to kill it.

I only shoot WT pods in highsec just to be on the safe side but that was a hilarious event, this 5-day-old guy in a T1 frigate getting hundreds of millions of isk bounty for popping an autopiloting pod. Gotta love EVE where stuff like that happens.

Quess the evelopedia article on pod killing should be updated then...
