I currently mission for the Minmatar (security lvl 4).
But each time i get a storyline mission, it's a transport one.
The problem is that they ask me to move stuff like 50 000 m3 !
But i am not an industrialist at all, i run fighting missions !
I am really supposed to train Industrial for half a month and to pay 1,5 billionShocked for a freighter just to run here and there these silly missions ? Or am i really supposed to make 20 travels with an Iteron to complete the mission ?
Is this really working at intended ? Or is there an error ?

It's like if someone runs mining or transport missions and gets fighting storyline missions... it makes no sense...

I did a lot of Storyline missions but never had one where I needed to haul 50.000m3.

Having said that, I think storyline is always a mix of possible missions with the emphasis on distribution.

What I normally do is accept the mission, fly to the station, buy what I need there and close the mission.

Normally the mission reward is higher then the cost of just buying it of the market. Even selling it with a little loss would be okay if you look at the standing increase. If you do not need the standing increase and the reward is lower then the price of buying the stuff then just decline...

Hmm, forgot to put a smiley somewhere: P

Thank you, but what i have to haul is not buyable : it's some specific mission items/containers. And it's not sometimes, it's always like that !
And about costs : i win 1-5 millions for such mission... i just do that for the standing, but it's really disheartening... it becomes a nightmare to haul this stuff by doing dozens of travels... it's too stupid...

No, just 2 will do it, and be faster than a freighter. Iteron V with 5 cargo expander II and 3 cargohold optimization I rigs gives you 38k cargo hold. You can also get over 25k with a mammoth if you can't fly Iteron V.

Hmm... it still makes me train Industrial to 5 for nothing as i'm not at all industrialist... but at least i would not have to buy a freighter... Thank you, i will study this solution.
Why the hell don't they give us missions which are adapted to what we do ? Not to mention that it doesn't even sound logical in a "roleplay" way : the guys hire you because you are a fighter, and then after 17 missions, in aknowledgement of your fighting skills, they will ask you to tranport a mountain of stuff in your fighting ship...

Mammoth only needs Minmatar Industrial 4. Over 25k cargohold, so hauling 50k takes 2 trips.

But yeah I get mostly couriers or mining storyline missions fromr Minmatar storyline agents. When I worked for the Caldari I used to get about 50% mining and combat.

Mining missions make even less sense. "Fetch me 8000 Kernite, I'll give you this implant". Umm OK I'll buy 8000 Kernite in the very same station that you live in for about 2 mil, give it to you, then sell the implant for 18 mil. You know you really could have just sold the implant yourself, bought the Kernite yourself, and had 16 mil left in your pocket.....

You could always take a chance and let some hauler do it for you. You have like 6 days to finish the mission, so setup contract to RF, when delivered, fly to station in shuttle and finish mission.

Set collateral high so in case the mission needs to be failed you always have some profit.

So maybe you won't get the bonus reward, but as RF freight delivers in one day you still have some reward and better even, you get a standings raise.

I agree with sh'tog that red frog might be an idea.

If you want to do it yourself take a look at the bestower. it only takes amarr industrial I to fly it and rigged and fitted with expanded cargoholds II's will give you 20k+ cargohold 'old 'ld 'd :)

cheers

Yes storyline missions seem consistently different.

I was running level 4 security missions in Blackrise for a few months a while back. I always got materials for war storyline and almost always with a low sec delivery.

Moved to another region and still get courier storylines every time when running security level 4 missions. I started running level 4 mining missions as using my mining fleet I could finish them in 5-10 minutes for 3000-4000 lp and a good standings boost. Every storyline I got from running mining missions was a security storyline. 12.5% faction boost from each one. Have been able to drastically raise my faction standings of my whole fleet doing mining missions with the security storylines. It did not take long sharing mission rewards before all my characters could get missions with the level 4 agent. I just then took turns one toon at a time accepting the missions and sharing until I got enough storylines to bring up that toons faction.
