Hey again. Thank you in advance for all the info i got from you before. Now i got new questions!

My income is mainly mining ( got 2 accounts, one is purely to mine and make isk, other to spend it on flashy stuff). I am mining quite far away from jita and local prices for ore are crap. I got a great friendly corp and we got our ore bought by CEO, but lately he is very damn busy and it leaves me with 400mil isk of ore hanging for a week. ( obviuosly not his fault as he is a busy man, he is already doing us a faivor for buying all for a very good price ). So the main thing for me now is become less reliant on Corp and become a big boy!

So main question would be: how do you go around of getting your "****" moved from A to B. I presume putting a public contract is pretty much simple. what are the prices and how much would i pay to move something like lots of ore ( cheap ore, nothing fancy ).
How does it work anyway? I dont really feel comfortable to have a third party taking all my cargo just like this... who stops that person just from stealing it all? Or EVe has some deposit system?

and if it is too expensive to use third party for transporting, is training for a proper freighter like charon is a better option? i could train for it in a month and i could afford one even now. would that be a handy investment? Even if i would not just use it to move my **** around?

cheers for all info!

Public contracts are all right but;

If its a large amount of ore your going to transport on a regular basis you could use Red-Frog Freight to transport it, they are usually quiet good but can be expensive. It may be worth contacting the CEO if you're going to use it loads and loads and see if you could possibly get a discount.

looks like its only 10mill to ship 20 jumps. So it looks quite reasonable. cheers for the link.

on the side note... how many Trips does it take to clear freighter costs?!?!

Just to outline the question you asked a bit more OP.

When the ore is ready to go to jita :

1. Find ore in station inventory (multiple storage stations will require multiple contracts)
2. Right Click ore and go to CREATE CONTRACT
3. Select COURIER CONTRACT
4. Select a destination station (JITA 4-4 for most all business in Jita)
5. Move on to the payment screen and decide how much you will pay for the contract (10 Million for 20 jumps is a little extreme for your contract size). Your total payment will be split and shown to you on a per jump basis.
6. Decide on a collateral amount to request from the Contractor (Make this just over the worth to you of the shipment)
7. Choose how long the Contractor has to deliver the package in days.
8. Finalize and wait.

You can also send private contracts to people and corporations in the same way. Just look for the Private Contract name box.

Red-Frog Freight

^ That's all you need to know.

Red Frog = under 1bil collateral, high-sec shipment
Blue Frog = Red's big brother, up to 5bil collateral.
Black Frog = low-sec/NPC null JF service.

Let them do the hauling, they aren't that expensive and usually quite fast (over the last 2 months only 1 contract took more then 24h).

As for can you pay a freighter from hauling, take for instance your payment to Red Frog as a charge and then divide the cost of the freighter + the freighter skillbook by that amount. This will give you the amount of trips it would take before you pay more to red frog then it would be to buy your freighter.

Just keep in mind, a freighter is also very slow and you will loose a lot of mining time by doing the shipping yourself. So also take that into consideration. In the time red frog does the hauling you can mine and make more money then you would have been able to when you were doing the freighting yourself (mainly cause 9/10 you will return empty, something rarely happens with Red Frog, they usually chain their contracts).

Cheers. With Red Frog in business having your own transporter is pretty much useless. they have market by the balls and they ship it for pennies. Good for us i guess, but quite crap for the rest of the competition?

Thanks guys. i have bookmarked then and be using them to ship stuff.

Push Industries are an alternative to Red Frog, I've used both and they're both very reliable at getting your stuff hauled. The best bit is that unlike in the real world, as 3rd party haulers they don't play football with anything marked fragile & they don't pretend to have tried to deliver 3 times when all they've done is fill out a form, knock once, post the form and run like hell.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Just to make you aware of this.

Red Frog makes use of the normal guys like you and me.

In Red Frog Freight there are only contracting alt characters. These guys accept the Red Frog contract and then forward it to their normal freighter pilot (who isn't in Red Frog). Also all the contract you set up, the reward goes to the freighter pilot, well technically to his contract alt, but you get my point. Red Frog Freight doesn't get paid a dime for the contract, they live on donations by players. So yes buying a freighter might seem useless if you are a pilot who has just an occasional haul, but if you are flying under your corporation flag and they fill your freighter up every 2 days then it's another case. Anyway, if you have 2 accounts and 1 of them is in a freighter you already passed 50% of the Red Frog requirements to be a Red Frogger. So you can also do some side business.

The main reasons that Red Frog only contains contract alts, rather than the haulers:
1: Wardecs
2: Awoxers

^ That are the only two reasons.

Go ahead and wardec them, you won't find many targets and those that you find fly around in shuttles/frigates cause they need a relocate.
