Going from vindicator to nightmare for amarr missions?

I'm currently doing amarr missions with a vindicator.
Great ship, with my skills I'm doing about 900 dps with 425mm T2 guns from 20km, sniping frigates with FN antimatter L.

I put a few days of skilling for a nightmare and I can get into one.

Because of the fitting layout, I can fit a better tank (my vindicator fit is shield based, which isn't a lot of tank) and a MWD, but with my set of current skills, I will do about 790 dps with drones (almost 900 once I get the BS and guns skill to 4) at 38km.

Currently I don't really need to warp out of missions because of my tank, and on some missions (blockade) I do need assistance from a friend since I can't hit anything at all.

Reason to go to a nightmare is the EM damage, can fit a better tank, and even get a MWD or AB on to get between gates when its needed.

I plan to fit it pretty standard with meta4 guns for now and faction heat sinks/TE/TC, and a heavy or medium nos just for the bit extra caps (I don't know if I can fully drain an NPC, its just an idea to try, but its nice to get some extra caps in).

Reason not to is because I like my vindi. But if I get a nightmare and spec it to missions, I can set my vindicator to incursions blaster dps and do those as well from time to time.

So, is it worth going that way?

I use a nightmare for amarr space. Yes, it's REALLY worth it...and use faction tachyon (less cap than T2).

Where did you say you flew this again?

Also, get rid of the EM drones. Hobgoblins and Hammerheads are better. Also, look into using Imperial Navy Tachyons instead of T2. It'll be much easier on capacitor, and the loss of DPS is very minor.

flying the nightmare fitting wise is 100% game play style

most fly with a cap booster and a XL shield booster.

not many use the pithum a-type sb in consunctions with faction tachs so they can run cap stable

all of the above use tachs

some use a similar fit to above with mega pulse 2's

and finally VERY few use cap power relays o make their Large/XL shield boosters cap stable

I highly suggest less is more.

look me up in game if you want some agent pointers.

If you keep the vindi go somewhere else. If you are dead set on staying switch to nightmare and watch everything under your tach's

It never gets old seeing 5000 damage pop up on the screen when you land a good hit.

I used to do missions in gallente space. Hence the vindicator.
I moved to amarr space for now, which is the reason why i'm considering switching to a nightmare.
I have a good set of skills for both armor and shield tanking, and good gunnery skills, so switching isn't that hard. Only problem was is it worth going, as a nightmare and gearing it does cost a billion+.

Tracking enhancer will serve you better than the damage control. You never really need a damage control on a shield mission ship, unless of course you worried about your shield breaking.
