Has anyone ever forgotten to upgrade their clone after dying, and lose all their SP?

This mechanic is kinda lame. I really hope CCP looks at this and give us an "auto-upgrade" option whenever our SP > current clone.

But yeah, worse case scenario would be forgetting to upgrade and losing 99% of your SP. I wouldn't play Eve again if that ever happened. Has it ever happened to anyone?

edit: did some further research, and it seems like you only lose SP from your highest skill. So if you don't upgrade and die, you won't plummet back to 900,000 SP. Whew!

No it hasn't, because when you have a clone that is out of date the only SP you lose is like 30% of your highest ranked skill. I lost Freighter 5 once because of it and only had to train another 10 days or so to get it back. Course that is what I get for flying a freighter into lowsec drunk.

Don't blame it on alcohol, the result would probably have been very similar had you been sober Lol

If I was sober I would of jumped my scouts in first and had my combat fleet webbing my freighter. Since I was drunk I forgot I was jumping into lowsec because I had the warning turned off ><.

What about the part where you forgot to update your clone? Would sobriety have fixed that?

The actual lesson here is know what you're talking about before complaining. Glad to see you went back and did further research, thus negating your complaint.

Very possibly, except that I always play with a beer in hand. Or a bottle of some fine sugar cane rum. Or maybe a handle of some good tequila. I don't play EVE sober very often.

I looked at my old corps killboard to see a guy (mentioning no names) had been podded twice in 10 minutes. Knowing the guy, i logged onto comms and asked him what skill he had lost. It hadnt occurred to him that he had so after telling him where to look comms went quiet, then "****". He also lost gal bs V

I lost minmatar BSV which completely screwed up my training queue for 21 days.

Only a few hours until I get it back though.

Minmatar....we are generally unpleasant to be around....

A long time ago yes. Wasn't a very important skill I lost though.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Even though I don't like the games which hold hands of players all the way, a feature which enforces players to remember a regular job which is required NOT TO loose some of your progress, is a very very bad game design.

This never happened to me, however I really don't know what this feature adds to this game apart from the demotivation it creates. If it's a ISK sink, it should be able to set automatic (like rents).

I agree ^

I don't like the SP system and I don't like losing SP. I spend to much time plan, updating and paying for subscription to just lost it to a monotonous task this makes for bad game play.

Looking threw past posts on the subject the people who dislike it looked to trolls and tear hungry narcissists.

I want to fly spaceships and do fun things not play the SP game, it is true I joined EVE it did not join me. I believe all games systems must improve or you should go and play your Pong.

Why wouldn't the clone just automatically update, I don't see why this has to be a manual task or could I just set it to auto upgrade. The medical menu could just pop-up when you are podded or need a to update. Why have different clone types at all? Roll
