the trick to killing frigs isn't fitting ships to kill them... it not hard to kill a frigate. The trick is getting them to commit to a fight. Most frigates wont attack obvious baits.

I've seen a tornado with small guns and big tank bait frigs. Doing something like fitting 1x 1400 arty and pretending your a sniper so they close in on you - then you open up with 7x 200mm guns and a scram and web.

The talos also works well since it has INSANE tracking and 5x light drones.

yeah well you lose the "INSANE" tracking the second you fit something smalle than a L gun and saild L guns hardly track frig even with bonus (double web would help but still).

my best bait was a cyclone with a 1600 plate scram double web and 180mm ac + neuts and a invulnerability field so if someone look close at you it still seems you are shield tanking :D
now with ASB not so many player are willing to engage it anymore but sometimes it still work

How about... another frigate or destroyer?

Crazy, I know, but very, very few frig pilots are going to engage a caracal or SFI.

This kinda made me think for a bit, cause yeah, most frigates would run if they saw a Vexor, Caracal or Rupture anywhere near them. But I also think of that as a kind of fun challenge.

What I came up with though is something I'm gonna try later today, but a Thorax with MWD + Warp Disruptor + Cap Booster in mids - then 2x DDUs + 2x Nanofiber Internals + DCU II in lows and a full rack of neuts in highs could be pretty darn hilarious. If they get close you just pulse the MWD once, close range and blow away all of their cap. Then they're left sitting there wondering "WTF just happened".

I mean basically if you ignore the whole concept of using guns, fit a full rack of neuts and use 5x light drones + 2 DDUs on pretty much any ship it's bound to cause a few lulz before it goes down.

I think this is self explanatory. And i also think noone ever expects a Celestis to actually fit a full tackle, MWD and still be able to boost shield like a demi god. Don't forget to overheat every ASB cycle!

Rapid Light Missile caracals are great for killing frigs and dessies. You can even use a dual large ASB fit (has point and mwd!) to bait them harder (make them think they're winning by not using your active reps, then suddenly pop your ASB charges when you're starting to get into low shields/armor) and generally by then you've already gotten them low enough that they cannot escape, you can get some pretty lulzy 300+ mil daredevil kills that way.

People seem to be missing the point: Getting a frig to commit to a fight is the difficult part, killing it is not. Things like SFI, Cynabals and caracals are obvious frigate killers.

However an osprey is not, and trust me - it kills frigs. My rather embarrassed wingman in a taranis will testify to this.
