Shield boost nerf last night?

As of last night, it appears shield boosters/amplifiers are draining cap to empty after a few minutes, even if cap stable. Anyone else experiencing this?

What are you fighting?

Sansha energy vamping was always as over powered as Guristas I-Win ECM, it just wasn't as in your face.

Nothing really that was vamping. Even out at safe spots just sitting, it slowly kills cap even at 24% stable.

Cap stable doesn't mean it won't drain cap. It will probably stabilize when the capacitor is down to about 30%. If it doesn't, then I don't know.

Yeah I understand that cap stable doesn't equate to no cap drain. However, I have been using this particular fit for the past few months with no changes and no issues. Until last night that is. And it all seems tied to the shield booster and amplifier.

Did you train a skill which reduces the cycle time on one of your active mods? Shorter cycle times mean extra cap costs.

Implants can also do this.

Cap stable at 20% means at that point the recharge will sustain your booster assuming the drain of the shield booster was spread out over the entire cycle time (so if it cost 500 gj every 5 seconds it assumes 100 gj/s cap drain)

In reality, it takes 500 gj/s at a time. This can cause the shield booster to "alpha" your cap below peak recharge, and once it's below peak recharge the capacitor can't keep up.

Basically, 20% cap stable with a big booster might not actually be stable.

Maybe I'm not being clear. This was not an issue on this fit. It worked fine for the past few months. It only started last night in the middle of a lvl 4 mission.

It's probably just a ui bug. If it is a bug, it should go to 0 than it'll become 100% etc and you'll get 36565748393948776564636367 out of 200 cap in ship info.

Yes! CCP are the evil masters. Yes! CCP are the ones doing sudden for no reason stealth nerfs because Yes! they can.

And yes maybe you should, reboot your pc, clear your cache, get rid of 'Machonet', check if your fit is really the same then before or even tell us you din't fly and lose a T3 before starting wild rumors.

Hybrid ammo and laser ammo also affect cap stability.

Yes because an incursion could be affecting your stats.

Incursions don't reduce ship capacitor.

By any chance did you use the fitting utility on this ship recently? I have had a couple cases where a saved fit wouldn't work right but manually rebuilding the ship did.
