Aura Voiced Tutorial Guide - Help?

Hey there everyone,

Yes, I'm new to the game. While running through the tutorial and watching a couple of youtube videos on the Eve tutorial. I started to wonder why my tutorial wasn't voiced, now I don't mind reading. I will if I have to, but if I have the option to listen to instructions and apply them at the same time, I would find this alot more efficient.

Is there an option I have missed, where I can turn this feature on? I have browsed through the setting a few times, but can't seem to locate any such option which might indicate where I could turn such an option on. Any and all help would be appreciated, I've been really enjoying the game thus far and find it really fascinating.

But as mentioned if you have any idea as to why I am not able to hear the voiced version, I would really appreciate a heads up on how to change this, so that I'm able to listen rather than have to read everything. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

It might just be, that the tutorials you're doing aren't voiced. Not everything is, since it just isn't practical, because the tutorials have to be rewritten or are changed on a constant basis. This mean no/limited voice or voice that doesn't match the instructions, so CCP has given up on trying to have the exact text voiced.

Yeah they've done major tutorial re writes and havent had the time or resources to have them rerecorded

For my part, i don't like tutorials with voices, because then i don't control anymore the pace. I like to take my time and read carefully. Voices are just confusing me.
It's long ago that i have done any tutorial in EVE so i don't remember, and maybe it has changed, but i really wish that they give/keep the option to disable voices.

This, plus the fact that they at least try to supply EvE in several languages (english, russian, german and japanese I think).

So text is easier to adjust and translate.

I have to admit that I'd like to have more of the game voiced but I can buy their decision as long as the spend those resources on making the game better.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

The thing is, they're trying to improve the tutorial as much as possible over the next few iterations, so having to voice them over and over is less than ideal.

In stead of a soft digital voice telling you what is happening, or NOT happening, you get a black box that pops up in the middle of the screen. That has sometimes hindered me when trying to click on a celestial to align or warp.
Eh? It pops up discreetly in the bottom right corner of my screen.

Hmmm . . . , never seen that one.

Surly they have someone, in house, that could do it. I mean a good mic is $50 and Audacity will record it on par with a professional recording studio. I have a similar set up in my home.

So go and record yourself reading all the text. Aim for high production values: nicely modulated voice, clear pronunciation, and consistent tone, volume and timbre over all the recordings. Tell us how long it takes :)

There are a couple of cases, where I was getting shot while trying to read the paragraph where Aura is telling you about the mission. And another where it just flashes up and it's gone before you can finish reading it. I actually had to restart the mission to find out what I had to do.

Make sure to provide feedback about these cases, the developers love constructive feedback.

Ok, I feel like I have clearly overstepped boundaries.Sad

I apologize for any negative input about the game.

It shall not happen again.

I vote for more Aura voice. Here's music video where her voice has been used in so beautiful way. More Aura voice!
