Is it possible to activate an account using a PLEX?

They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue. That's the Chicago way! Did I mention, I used to live in Chicago?

Yes.

The method is to log into your account through Account Management. There should be an option to reactivate your account for 4 hours just so you can log in and redeem a PLEX.

Is that 3 hours from that point or 3 hours total of logged in game time?

For example, could someone activate their '3 hours grace period' then actually log into the game 4 hours later and have the 3 hours to do what they need to do?

Not something I'm intending on trying, just more of a clarification than anything else.

It is real time, not game time. It is simply an extension of the normal subscription by 4 hours ( not 3, bad CCP Eterne, bad ).

The subscription mechanic doesn't deal with "in-game" time. Everything is real time.

Coundown begun when you activate few hours form account managment, you cant activate it and come back after one week etc to use 3 hours activated week ago.

The clock starts ticking in real time from the moment you activate the "Hours for PLEX" option. When the time runs out, your ability to log into (or stay logged into) EVE disappears. Yes, you'll be logged out of the game if you happen to be in space at the time.

HOWEVER

If you are asking whether it's possible to upgrade from a trial account to a full account using PLEX, the answer is YES! Just right-click the PLEX (it can be in your current station hangar, or somewhere else in the universe as long as you can see it in your assets window) and select "Apply game time to account" (or words to that effect). Activating using PLEX means you don't have to pay the extra $5 account setup fee.

Just remember that when your account time runs out, your game will stop even if you are in the middle of something terribly important like a storyline mission, or bridging your nullsec alliance fleet to a new war zone.

My question is in regards to a standing account that's been inactive for a while. Belongs to my son, who is now expressing a desire to play. I have several PLEXs in my possession, so I figured if it were possible, I'd plop one into his item hangar. (We're in the same corp, so I can do that.)

Thanks for all replies.
