as above i am attempting to try a bit of market trading and was looking at the market data tool/website and wonder if someone could explain the screen shot i have taken in the link below

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v62/emperorbog/market1.jpg

basically for the upgraded 1mn microwarp drive market data was reporting it as been bought in jita for a stupid price and the data was 3 hours old, so i jumped 13 jumps to jita to check these prices out, and basically theye are not been bought for anywhere near that price, i even ran the market data update link to get latest prices and it came back with the same result while i was in jita. so i am trying to understand how it reports duff info or have i read the whole lot wrong?

Lots can change in an hour... so best bet is to have a trading alt in the market hub at all times. that's where the real prices are. all the rest are merely close approximations from a time already past...

I use that site quite a bit. But keep in mind that the 5 major hubs (especially jita) move quite a bit. Data from there can become stale almost instantaneously. As the previous poster stated its a good idea to keep an alt in jita just to verify prices before you make a huge move to make the deal.

Also keep an eye out for scams, it is very popular to use that site for margin trading scams. Someone will put a rarely traded officer mod up for sale in jita, and put it at an even higher price to buy in amarr. You buy there inflated price in jita, thinking youll make a nice profit in amarr, and bam, trade doesn't complete because of a margin trading scam. Thread on Margin trading scams

I use the website mainly so i can stock hubs in low and npc nullsec. Find a decent hub, move an alt out the station. Black Frog is your friend. and profit. just run the numbers before you do anything.
