Just over 36 hours left on this account, CCP... and another account has just over 20 hours left on it... another would have had even less than that, but following the 're-focusing' blog, I plexed it...

It was a brief ray of hope, and aside from today's culling, which unfortunately included some Community Dev's that I actually had massive respect for, I'd say you're headed pretty-much back on track -- but are you on the 'right' track...?

I'm prepared to stick by you, and part with hard cash - even though my corpie's know that RL issues are keeping me out of game right now, and for at least a month or so probably.

But if you want to secure that cash, and doubtless, the cash of hundreds of other players --- Scrap the Nex.

Summary translation: CCP must face the fact they might have just screwed up yet again.

I look forward to their spin.

Maybe we will get another 1000$ pants on head ******** response like the initial Incarna response.

Yeah, I think the remaining forum mod/community team members are going to be a hell of a lot busier than they've been before... It's a shame.

1. You're almost certainly right... Which isn't a good thing, in this particular case (as I see it, at least)

2. Uh, no. Not yet, though I will keep you in mind.

NeX has to go.

The developers/producers that foisted this concept on Eve online are directly responsible for a lot of the subscription/profit reduction this summer and should take responsibility for this crisis that CCP have gotten themselves into.

NeX has no place in Eve Online.

It is a foreign intrusion into the player led economic sandbox that represents general MMO industry marketing nonsense trying to force its way into a setting where it is not wanted, provides no value, and actually harms the way players see this game.

CCP needs to be courageous and "fearless" enough to get rid of this appalling corrupting influence on our game universe.

How exactly is wanting the NeX store out of Eve "playing bad politics"?

And to the chap who wanted "my stuff" - since in Eve "stuff" converts nicely to gametime without needing to support the current regime with formal subscripton ... I don't think so.

The disapointing thing is that Incarna and the role that clothing, ship painting, etc could have played in expanding the sandbox was removed from the players. Why would or should any player be happy about the addition of the NEX store?

Ill concieved and shortsighted is all I can attribute to those responsible for it's implementation.

I'm still scratching my head trying to think how people at CCP thought that having a cash shop for game elements that would have sparked a wider interest from players both within and especially potential new ones was a good idea. Having a cash shop does not broaden the appeal of EVE and from what I have seen on other sites it's actually having the opposite effect.

Nex (Cash Shop) / Aurum - removing sand from the sandbox since Incarna. Currently the only use for aurum is to buy virtual items in the in-game store, but Cockerill expects to expand its uses in the future.

It was almost certainly the "idea" of people who came in from outside the core eve development team and wanted to sell this "revolutionary" new concept (read parrot other company thinking) without having the slightest thought or appreciation for Eve's own distinctive selling points and market advantage (ie the player led economic and single server sandbox).

Business is full of idiot managment that join companies and want to make "their" mark by plagiarizing the thought processes of others . The summer devblogs about Nex/MT in Eve were shockingly blatent in this regard and read like a new manager wanting to run a specialist books retailer like a drive in fast food resturant and wondering why all the customers were leaving.
