I'm at a loss to understand how you could back-stab the very people that kept your main cash source going all the years you were allocating resources to OTHER projects and neglecting EvE.

The community team Kept you rolling in cash all the years you ignored many issues in the game. And gave use nothing substantial content wise.

The PR damn that they built was broken not by them but by the atrocity that was the nex store and INCARCERATIONS one room. And Hilmars fat ego put on parade for all to see like the emperor with new cloths that it was.

And even then they were slowly rebuilding CCPs REP. Only for CCP to take them out back and shoot them for their efforts.

Im just at a loss for how you can make so many bad decisions one after another and take it out on the very people that kept those bad decisions from causing major damage.

Incarceration was just too big a flop for them to be able to manage. But that's not their fault. It was like asking them to stop a tidal wave with an umbrella.

We can understand the layoff of devs on WOD. But the very communication team we depend on? When you just said you would try to communicate with us more? Take the people we have built a relationship with over years and **** can them? Are you now going to try to replace them with someone we have no relationship with?

Its like the world is upside down and inside out on Iceland.

Bad form CCP. Bad form indeed.

The community team sure as hell did.

Years of it in fact. Keeping players interested, talking to them about their concerns. PR. ETC. ETC. ETC.

I know some people have short attention spans. But many of them did not become liked by accident you know.

Few things -

1) Sadly there is now officially no one responsible for reading these forums and making sure your above questions get answered. Oh, the irony.

2) I still agree with those who say the forum crowd is a minority amongst the EvE player base. I would say the vast majority of players never go on the forums, and there are many many many players who keep on enjoying the game as we speak that are completely unaware that supposedly "EvE is dying." Similarly, there are a large number of so-called "players" like yourself that haven't been on the server at all for quite some time now (your corpies miss you!), despite regular forum activity. I'm not trying to talk smack, just to point out that the disconnect between the active forum-warriors and the people who play the game every day may have contributed to CCP's decision to make cuts on the team that grooms the forums. They may not have seen the decision as pissing on players as a whole, the probably saw it as pissing on people who were already more or less hardened against the company and any decision it made.

All that to say, you're right in that I feel sorry for Fallout and Zymurgist, they got played like pawns in this whole debacle. Hilmar should have released that letter far sooner, instead he made those two step forward and absorb the brunt of the forum onslaught following Incarna's release. To than elect them for layoff during the downsizing just adds insult to injury, and demonstrates a lack of respect for the employees who were attempting to do protect the company, even if it was a losing battle from the beginning because of the major errors in development decision- making.

You know I wonder if this turns into another big thing.

Will it take months to get another letter?

I think they realize now that all they have to do is fake a heartfelt apology and people will eat it up and once again let them do whatever
