Just read the blog post on the new Crimewatch features coming next month and I must confess, when I read the part about buying and selling kill rights, I had an epic nerd moment yessir.

Been wanting something like that for quite a long time, THANK YOU CCP!!! No longer can you pirate with impunity - gonna be an epic bloodbath come the 4th, that's for sure Twisted

You realise the current mechanics do not allow people to pirate with impunity, right?

Stupid thread. Please grow an extra 10 IQ points and try again.

I don't think the OP has figured out the part where this is going to lead to a lot more carebears being ganked than before.

Awww, have you been a bad little boy - scared on the open season that's about to tear up your ass?

Pirates will now have to commit to their lifestyle, no more killing helpless people in lowsec and then grinding NPC kills to appear innocent. Stay in low, or risk certain death in high..LOVE IT Twisted

Just 10?

Until the bounty system has been tweaked to allow selling of kill rights only to specific corps I wouldn't expect to see bounty hunting as a career take off.

If you'd taken my advice about the IQ thing you might have realised you're a bit off base

Oh well, don't say I didn't try to help when the update hits and things don't play out the way you thought

IQ doesn't determine what people may or may not know about this game's mechanics. If you had any IQ points, you would know that.

Except he clearly stated he read the post explaining the mechanics, but then demonstrated a complete misunderstanding of them. I'd say your comprehension skills are related to IQ, no?

The chaos these changes will bring to highsec should be exciting to watch.

*cough* saw that, was really crossing my fingers that prehaps I misunderstood lol. Still should present us with plenty of kill opportunities.

Also while the ability to assign kill rights to a particular corp will definitely have it's uses, I think the primary focus here, at least from the position of a carebear/wannabepirate is welll...legal gankage in highsec Twisted

If you think most pirates are impeded at all by being shot by NPCs and people in hisec, you got another thing coming. The killrights-selling will probably just be abused as a way to take the money of silly people who are scared of pirates and don't know how easy it is to not die.

Sincerely, a pirate with -6.6 sec status (shot in all hisec).

What I comprehended was the fact that you think IQ can be determined from how someone comprehends one blog post. I think you've got it backwards - someone can have a high IQ and be rather terrible at maths, but really good at problem solving and patterns, or language. Or really bad at something else, and really great at maths. IQ alone doesn't determine one's intelligence.

You seem to think you know something about the mechanics - why don't you explain them so OP has a better understanding instead of just being a facetious ****. That would have demonstrated higher IQ than merely lashing out like a small child with irritable swampass.

For the record, mine's 127. Not genius, but higher than average. Officially tested. Most people who have been officially tested can tell you, and would tell you, that you've got IQ all wrong, just as much as you seem to think OP has the mechanics wrong.

Killrights are not bounties, and the two are completely separate and unrelated.

Killrights are a "right to get revenge", which can turn the target into a suspect at will. This allows people to legally shoot them. Killrights are single-person only.

Bounties are a way to reward people who destroy the target. They can be put on anyone (including corps and alliances), regardless of the presence of a killright. They do not make shooting anyone legal. That is, you could put a bounty on a mining corp, but that does not mean CONCORD would not show up if someone shot the corp. All it means is if someone actually gets kills (either via suiganking or otherwise), they get paid.

Lol, if you notice I mentioned those that grind NPC kills to improve their sec status. If you happy to have a low security rating then of course this probably isn't goinig to effect you.

I'm talking about the guys I see with low security ratings and bounties who are flying freighters and orcas in high-sec. They've obviously commited crimes, but faced little in the way of true justice.
