Minmatar Ship Logos

I have noticed that the logos on the Minmatar ships are of the different Minmatar tribes and not the manufacturer of the ship, but this is not the case for the other races.

e.g. Core Complexion ships have the Sebiestor Tribe logo, Boundless Creation ships have the Brutor Tribe logo instead of the particular corporation that manufactures that ship

Was this done on purpose or is it just a mistake?

I imagine on purpose. Each Matari corporation is held in majority by one of the tribes - and tribal pride is strong. It would make sense for them to hold their tribe above their corporation.

Likewise, the Caldari identify as Caldari only *after* identifying as an employee of, say, Ishukone, or Kaalikoata.
