Dogtags?

So I now have hundreds of dogtags belonging to a variety of different factions.

What am I supposed to do with them? Can I take them somewhere and exchange them for goodies?

Protect me from knowing what I don't need to know. Protect me from even knowing that there are things to know that I don't know. Protect me from knowing that I decided not to know about the things that I decided not to know about. Amen.

This depends on which type of dog tag you have.

Many of the LP Store offers ask for dog tags in addition to LP and ISK. You can also sell Empire dog tags to their enemy factions for ISK. Some pirate dog tags can be traded in to certain Agents in Space in exchange for standings boosts, or to some COSMOS agents in exchange for faction ships (supposing you have the requisite faction standing).

Some dog tags are useless, however, such as the dog tags of named pirates (such as Olufemi).

Most common use is to just sell them at your local trade hub.

If they are pirate tags, e.g. Guristas Bronze Tags, then you can take them to Data Centers and exchange them for significant faction standing boosts.

Guristas tags boost your standing with the Caldari State faction. Amarr, Minmatar and Gallente require tags from other pirate tribes, like Blood Raiders, angel Cartel and whatever they're called - it's been a while since I PVP'ed.

For Caldari faction standing, you need a total of 9 copper tags (handed over in lots of 3), and 20 of each of the other tag type (handed over as single lots of 20), Brass, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Palladium, and so forth.

Probably the other factions similarly require 9 copper tags and 20 of each of the other kinds.

Either gather enough tags and turn them in yourself to gain standing (which is nifty), or else sell the tags. Beware. Evil, scheming capitalists like me may offer up cheapskate Buy Orders that you can sell to, getting ISK instantly, but if you bide your time and set up your own Sell Orders, especially in trade hube like Jita or Amarr Prime or Dodixie, you'll gain a lot more ISK.
