I am wondering what most players actually use for their mission running fits? I see alot of talk about the costly fits but I don't think my current tengu even breaks 600 total cost. I'm now looking at BS's again and just wondering if there is a difference between the real fits vs eft fits?

I use t2 and meta 4 on my Navy Ravens and Navy Scorp.

I use a T2 fitted Wolf for my lvl 1-3 pleasures...

Me too when i need to grind standing, in AC version. It's cheap (maybe 40-45 Mill fitted), you can choose the damages you want to deal, it's fast, and has great resistances. I also use it as all-in-one exploration ship in high sec.
For level 4 i used a dominix but it's boring. Thinking about using a hac or T3 now.
But i don't mission much anymore, only when i want some faction stuff like ammos or probes...

for lvl1-3 i used passive T2 fited cynabal. And for T4s i use active mael. In null i rat in two shield transporting sentry domies they have cap stable tank 800 ehp each ;-).

L1 = T1 frig or destroyer
L2 = Wolf
L3 = Drake
L4 = Maelstrom
L4(optimized ISK per hour) = Vargur

Yes, its weird but that's my actual progression. I skipped cruisers entirely.

I'm going to cross train Gallente soon and I can't wait to try the Cyna.
