Here is an idea - why not set up a trust run by Eve players? Every player interested puts a grand or so into the trust in exchange for units. The trust buys CCP. The trust then cans Dust and starts getting on with some real expansions for Eve.

If you have 3-4 accounts you probably spend a grand or so on Eve anyway over 2 years or so why not...

Not sure how much CCP is worth though and if there are enough Eve players who aren't unemployed :)

A trust run by Eve players for Eve players? Like that's going to happen ;)

Your idea makes less sense then my posting on most of the threads I post on.

Setting up trust in a game known for scams.

Good idea!

I'm going to go with no, and my reasoning is going to be

"Because eve players as a general rule have dumber ideas than CCP"

If you require evidence of this please report to one of the following subforums:

All of them.

Well, that is what would happen though.

to be fair, any time anything interesting happens, 9 times out of 10, it's because of them.
they're the logical choice, regardless of what you think of them.

A good idea in principle. At least you'd develop Eve for Eve players. The major issue is that at least based on the responses to this thread, it looks like finding mature Trustees to run it might be an issue

Because stopping a games production right before its finished is a great way to make money

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

Oh, yeah... they've done such a crappy job for almost a decade. I just joined the party and hope the braintrust at CCP continues to do EXACTLY what they've done so far. I'm looking forward to 2022, when I can say, 'I'm a 10-year bittervet'.

To put it another way.... 'No'

I am not sure that 450 thousand of any currency would be enough to purchase CCP, even if they were willing to sell.

Why pay them? EVE online is digital property just rip the game rebrand and put the server and our new company in a country that does not give a 2craps about international copy rights aka all of Asia, the Isle of Man, Channel Islands or the Native American territory.

We can call it Adam on-line. :)

Do you think we could scam CCP into giving us the company by using a contract in-game?
