yes, i am too lazy to look it up.

so i have an alt who hauls stuff in an orca... i'm kind of out of things to train so i wondered what skills you would need to get a perfect orca mining booster.

I should buy an Ishtar.

Mining Director V for the Tech II gang links, Industrial Command Ships V to max the Orca's stats, and Cybernetics V for the mining mindlink. Plus tanking skills. And maybe Siege Warfare Specialist if you want to remotely harden your miners' shielding against gankers.

that's all? well, that's surprisingly manageable.

I should buy an Ishtar.

That's all you need for boosting a squad with pure mining buffs, I think - you can go with Wing Command as well if you want to boost more than a squadron's worth, and the Orca isn't strictly limited to mining gang links. I also know at least one pilot who's used an Orca pilot as the foundation for a full-blown Loki booster alt.

I also recommend drone skills. It lets the miners use mining drones when the Orca handles all the rats.

Mining Director 5
Warfare Link Specialist 5
Industrial Command Ships 5
Cybernetics 5

I also recommend Siege Warfare Specialist 5, so you can use a Shield Harmonizing link (there is little need for the capacitor reduction mining link when mining hisec ores, but it is great for cap hungry crystals like Arkonor). Plus Siege Warfare adds 10% shield to the fleet.

At least a few levels of Information Warfare is also nice to have, as it extends targeting range of the fleet. Amor Warfare 5 giving 10% more armor is also nice for the fleet to have.

Everyone should have Leadership 5 in my book, and Wing Command 2 isn't that far from there (about 2 hours).

My Orca booster, and general shadow alt that follows me around most everywhere, with the purpose of making my life easier. As he needed drones for the Orca and Rorqual, he's also a Gila & Rattlesnake pilot for extra mission DPS, and that lead him to being a Chimera and Thanatos pilot.

Sorry, I didn't realize until I saw the prereqs for command ships: another boost for mining links will be the Warfare Link Specialist skill. Rank 6, something like 30 to 35 days to train up from scratch.

Many of those skillz are high Rank. Some may also have prerequisites.

True that, but the OP's alt can already fly the Orca, so it's something like 90 percent of the way there already - you need Mining Director I to even step into the Orca.
