Today I was sent a corporation recruitment message in my inbox and the same mail had been sent to a very large number of people at once including me by a guy starting a one day old corp.

Before I would was a GM's time with a petition i would like to know if doing that is a punishable offense or if this player could at least get a warning not to do that.

I also asked the guy about his corp, some of the obvious falsehoods in his ad, and if he would please stop sending me in game mails and use the appropriate channels and forums to which he very rudely responded with a poorly thought out reply with words missing 3/4 of the letters and very poor grammar ,not that it really matters.

Dont be a tart.

People do this all the time as a lot of corps want newbies who can grow in their alliance.

Its standard practise.

My advise is not to bother anyone with a petition and just biomass yourself
I dont normally troll, but when i do i do it on General Discussion.

My recruitment ads go into the relevant section of the forums. I have, however sometimes sent a mail to that particular player. Nothing sinister about it, its just player / player interaction, something which happens a lot in mmo's Shocked

I spend a lot of time in the rookie systems talking to new players and helping them, in my time there I have often been sent mails as part of mass recruitments of new players.

Either block the person from mailing you, or just leave it. There is nothing wrong with doing it AFAIK it's just a way to advertise to a lot of new players at once.

Click the "E" button at the top of the neocom. Select Social > Evemail. Click the icon in the upper left corner and select settings. Select the option to block all unknown contacts. Or set a higher CSPA fee.

the block button works too

I dont think much would be done in regards to spam mail, I come to this conclusion after readin Chribba's report and realizing that CCP seems to turn a blind eye to spam issues.

If someone is spamming your in-game mail by repeatedly sending you messages, you can block that person to keep them from contacting you. If they are simply sending out a mass recruitment mail, there's nothing specifically in the policies against that, though you can also block them if you want.

The only case where it would be a petitionable action would be if they are continuously making alts to spam your inbox, in which case you should file a petition for harassment.
