Do I lose faction on missions against my factions Rebels?

I have a Minmatar (other character) and I am trying to build standing with Caldari....if a Caldari agent gives be a security mission to kill Minmatar Rebels, do I lose standing with Minmatar?

Hello Cik,

Yes you would as Caldari and Minimatar aren't friends. You would gain standings with Amarr though.

Actually I ran into a mission bug a long time ago where an Amarr agent sent me to kill a renegade Amarr pilot that had gone rogue, and I ended up losing Amarr standing for destroying the ship (because it was still considered Amarrian).

Thanks. Then how do i gain standing with Caldari without pissing another faction off?

My best suggestion would be to decline missions that deal with shooting other factions (Amarr, Mini, Gallente, Caldari) and just stick to shootin pirate NPC groups.

If you do mission for only 1 faction you will eventually drop into negative standings with 2 other factions even if you only accept kill pirate/mercenary missions.

Standings Mechanics (simplified)
Complete Normal Mission - Gain Standings with the Agent and His NPC Corporation
Complete Storyline Mission - Gain Standings with the Agent and His NPC Corporation, and Faction Standings are Adjusted

Faction Standing Adjustment (Simlpified)
Gain Standings with the Agents Faction
Gain less Standings with the Factions Ally
Lose Standings with the Factions Enemy
Lose less Standings with the Enemys Ally

example Faction Standing Adjustment loss/gain. completing a Caldari Storyline Mission
Gain +1.0 Caldari Faction Standings
Gain +0.75 Amarr Faction Standings
Lose -0.75 Galente Faction Standings
Lose -0.50 Minmatar Faction Standings



As you can see, it is possible to maintain positive Faction Standings with all 4 empires though it does take conserirable effort to achieve.
