OK so bare with me I'm new.

Working my way towards and Orca .... great ship, why is there no T2 of it? Kinda like a step between the Rorqual and the Orca, not another capitol ship.

like an Orca with a deployment like the Rorqual but can be in high sec

Because the DEVS chose not to, corny answer I know but it's true. CCP stated they don't want compression capable ships in high sec.

I cant really see why?

Because compression was put into game in order to help people out in low sec / 0.0 that are at much higher risk. It enables you to store more ore before having to return to a station. At least that is the reason I was given.

There's no real reason for compression in high-sec as you can just auto pilot freighter loads of minerals everywhere, and the distances to a trade hub are usually less.

Edit: I agree that a tech 2 orca would be cool, but I'm not really sure what role it would fill, as you can't make it to much more powerful then it already is without making it better then a rorq in some aspects.

I agree this compression stuff should stay the major point of Rorqal, however getting some T2 resists, a little bit + of hull and make it only ships transporter+half of regular Orca corp hangar volume, eventually jump capable wouldn't kill the game more than JF's already do. Get rid of ore bay change cargo bay fix to 5K M3

5k m3 Cargohold?

Slight downgrade from the T1 version. Shocked

My idea of a T2 ORCA would be T2 resists, double the ore hold, maybe better ganglink boosts, make the ship maintenance bay big enough to store a couple fitted battleships, or larger mining fleet, and possibly give it a short range jump drive like the Black Ops. But no compression. And maybe an extra utility high slot.

Currently the only T2 capital ship is the jump freighter. So a T2 ORCA would probably be a 4-5 bil ship keeping it rare compared to the T1 version.

just think of the rorqual as a t2 orca.

there we go, that was easy.

Your assumption of price dictating rarity is unsound. See "Titan Proliferation". Bad idea anyway. If you want a way to autopilot expensive stuff in highsec you are SOL.
