They don't have mods to stop dumb bullshit by banning people?

It sounds like a horrible and barbaric existence.

Well if you're a regular of eve-o general discussion it's still an increase of posting quality.

And holy hell Kugutsumen isn't censored here anymore?

Of course. Just saying a good way to make less people do them is to be a **** about it.

At least that's been my experience. I have the weirdest luck with joining corps and alliances that are already crumbling.

The easiest way to get into a null sec corp is probably just to do loads of PvP. Just attack ships you stand no chance of winning against until someone invites you into a corp. It might be an idea to join a training corp first to learn some PvP basics first though.

I think that's his point.

Training alliance. Too long.
Large alliance. Too long.

I think he just wants to join an alliance - without the BS - so he can "attack ships"

Well, in that case: RvB (Red vs. Blue) is the ticket.

Yes, they fight all the time. Not every day is a no hold barred supercarriers and titans on the grid fight (that's usually on the weekend or for some special op), but there's always fighting and sov grinding going on. Always. Absolutely no one is scared to lose ships in null (except the care-bears, who usually don't last long). Everyone in null has lost billions of isk worth of ships, and more billions worth of implants. We don't talk about it because it's all in a days work here in null. What we do is look for good fights (the one where you don't get blobbed), collect kill mails, and hunt down people who don't belong in our space. There is plenty of small gang PvP in between the large fleet battles.

If you want to join the conflict start looking at some of those sov holding alliances on dot-lan, look at the corps that are in them, and start contacting them. Most of them list their recruiters in the corp details. There is plenty of room for new-ish pilots in nullsec - tackle is always necessary and only takes a few days to train to a decent level. We love players who are willing to fight and despise special little princesses who think that the whole alliance should drop what it's doing to come and help them because they are too stupid to help themselves. Show willing and you will get all the help and advice you need, from which skills to train to what fittings work best, to how to PvP well.

You can get into large scale PvP as soon as you can fit a point on a rifter. You'll be told what the official CTA ships are, and you train for that. Usually as soon as you have everything trained the doctrine changes and you have to train for something else, but on the bright side once you train something it's trained forever. As for joining a forum, that's goons. There are enough goons, you don't have to be yet another goon.

The only time I ever balked at doing a CTA was when I found out afterwards that it was all just a personal payback CTA and served the alliance absolute zero purpose apart from ego.

Then I realised one day that sov IS about ego. So I quit 0.0.

Until something breaks in sov, I won't be in any hurry to go back. As it is for many I gather.

0.0 is full of PVP. Best there is if you know how to find it.

Get yourself in a decent NPC 0.0 based corp and learn the ropes. Plan roams in the farmers sov space and have fun ganking them. That would be the best of both worlds. Then you can make a name for yourself and raise some hell, make lots of isk and enjoy the spoils of their space.

However, you can expect them to come looking for you from time to time to kick your teeth in. Be mobile and smart and you will be fine.

Your post was very helpful, thank you.

I don't want to be a Goon. I kind of like joining underdogs. I don't like blending in, and it seems everyone is licking Goonsax to join which is quite lame to me. Not taking anything from them. I'm glad they found something they're good at...I just won't be doing it. I'd like to join a smaller alliance that's still growing which will allow me to make friends and connections, gain a foothold in an up and comer and go from there.

We, too, look to not get blobbed. Hilariously, we ensure this occurs with a high(er) probability by, you guessed it:

Blobbing harder than the enemy.

Have a good time in EVE. There's a bunch of small alliances. Some of them might be renters though, so yeah, chat with them first before you find yourself as a spaceserf under BoB5.0 (Maybe paying repair fees to Makalu or something?)

It may be lame for you, but my Goonsax loves a good licking.

Besides, those people are doing it wrong. A true goon wouldn't complain about licking Goonsax while trying to get into our infamous spacing guild. They would use getting their Goonsax licked as a reason for joining. That, and pubbie tears.

Or something like that.

Our forums are mostly just goons waxing poetic about all the ways Goonsax can be licked, so if that ain't your thing, you're better off in another corp.

Like I said man, Doobie has no issue with Goons, but let's be clear, I don't kiss ass. Just can't do it. If I get in with someone it'll be based on my abilities, not my ego stroking prowess. You guys came together and worked hard to be become on of the largest Alliances in game, and have done some nice ****. Props to you.

Having said that, I'm here to blow **** up and make my own mark on this place. EvE is one of my hobbies, and I believe in being the best in whatever I do. Based on my limited knowledge of Eve, joining a growing Alliance rather than an established one is the best route to carving my own piece.

Like that Gentleman's Agreement group. I've seen a few posts about them....wonder if they're still recruiting.
