Can we bring back drone Poo
I miss my drone poo

Before all the rage occurs, lets look at something.
Miners, sure there income went up, but the price or almost everything doubled, so their buying power stayed the same.
We cant make as much stuff, ships, stations, modules, are all more expensive and more a pain in the butt to build.

I think my eve life would be significantly better if we got our drone poo back, and I think yours would too. Your buying power would go up, as would your options in the game.

Bots gave the drones nothing to eat. So they ran out of poo to give us.

This alleged war on bots should not be confused with a war on drone poo
Find bots, kill bots. thats why I pay for my subscription, so ccp can get paid to do such things.

I think drones definitely need to drop something to actually make killing them worthwhile.

The "boss" drones in some anomalies still drop drone poo. It seems CCP missed a couple database entries :)

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

In fact, drones overall seem to be a waste of time. Their anoms are also much less rewarding then other factions' anoms.
... Or did I miss some crucial little detail?

Am I the only one who avoid them?

You propably didn't miss anything. Rogue drone related content in general is in the "We know it's lacking and want to add stuff to it" -pile of things to do.

I probably wouldnt miss drone poo...except now drones dont drop anything at all...so i guess poo is better than nothing.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Drone poo did need balancing. No doubt about that.

Drones residents essentially went 'cold turkey' though which required some significant changes in logistics.

Bounties are great and all but the change killed off supply. All the money in the world won't summon a mountain of trit required to keep up with ship replacements. Null became even more dependent on High Sec mineral supplies.

They could have gone halfway, 50% bounties and 50% poo. That probably would have been fine. As is nobody bothers to salvage. There's simply no profit in when you can just run another anom. I personally just import high sec salvage now as this is cost / time efficient.

I guess this is what CCP wants but I think reduced costs makes PvP less prohibitive for newer players.

You missed the main point.

It is true that a miners buying power did not go up much with this change. But the income of mission runners and ratters did not go up along with the miners. So in effect their buying power was reduced.

What does this mean? The gap in income between miners and mission runners and ratters is now much smaller making mining a much more viable profession. This change did exactly what it should have done and was meant to do.

Before miners made at best about 10 mil per hour, now they make 20-25 mil an hour, while missions runners are mostly unchanged at 40-60 mil an hour. Mining is now about 50% the income of a mission runner, compared to about 25% before the change. Working as intended from my point of view. As the market is finally starting to level off many prices are coming down from the spikes they hit with all the changes and market manipulations that have happened in the last year. battleships that were around 100 mil 2 years ago went up to over 300 mil and have now come back down to around 200 mil. PLEX seemed stable at around 350 mil 2 years ago and is now bouncing around 600 mil while I expected them to level off closer to 700 mil.

As far as buying power goes, a miners income has near doubled, but the costs of a PLEX have not quite doubled. So miner accounts that are payed for with PLEX actually require less hours of mining to buy that PLEX than they used to. From what I have seen nothing a miner needs has more than doubled while there income has. With the exception of some mining ships, but they are entirely new ships now. So their value before they were buffed can not really be compared to their value now.

The new changes to the mining ships making ICE mining more of an AFK profession has droped it back down to about 10 mil an hour which is fine as it is far less effort than ore mining. This has also resulting in a reduction of POS fuel of about 4000 isk per unit or 160,000 isk per hour on a large POS. Thats over 100 mil per month reduction in fuel costs for a large POS, based on my personal experience. I used to sell fuel blocks for 17-18k now sell them for 13-14k.

It sucks that these changes resulted in so much inflation. But looking at the bigger picture it has over all resulted in a more balanced EVE.

I've heard they're creating hauler spawns that drop truly massive amounts of minerals.

Witch is silly because it's just another form of gun mining.

Gun mining, truly speaking about drones, was bad for the game because of the huge amount of minerals injected in the economy.
The part of reprocess coming from mission loot was quite low even when a couple years ago a single mission could give you about 4.5K M3 of loot but this was an important part of the missioner income.
Since then loot from missions got nerf, nerf, re nerf and nerf again at the point there's no interest looting at all, CCP didn't raised mission rats bounty or LP's thus decreasing active players income by a huge margin at the point even sanctums are worthless doing with other tools than faction fitted Machariels/Vindicators if you want to get a decent income.

Reduce loot amount is good for mining profession, the moment bounty or lp's get a little, the other way around is nerf individuals income and make them enjoy farmville or wow rabbits killing (well at least wow quests you can have fun doing them, kill rats for killing rats endlessly is not)

Nerf drones poo was the best thing ever for mining profession, however this region right now is absolutely uninteresting, you have to be really crazy to stay over there because even lvl3 missions in high sec are more interesting, does this means you need to nerf lvl3's? -no.
This only means drone regions need a good take a look at and offer something unique and interesting enough so you want to go there or conquer it.

But you can always buy plex to get isk, set your own POCO and camp guard it 24h/7, beg for a tech moon to pop eventually on your living room and yada ya.

Nerf individual player income is bad on the long run.
