I have been playing EVE for over 18 months now, and Recently have been having loading Issues. My Computer got a virus over the weekend, which has been taken care of. It now loads the log in, but it does not finish loading when I choose a Character. It loads about 3/4 of the way and then the EVE online client stops responding, and doesn't respond. I have rebooted my computer, cleared cache, run the repair tool, and tried reinstalling. Any ideas on what is wrong and/or how to fix it?

Did you have to reinstall Windows after the infection or was it only cleaned?

If it was only cleaned then it's possible some of the infected files became corrupt causing EVE not to function properly.
It might thus be a good idea to run the System File checker in Windows to check this.

Here's information on how to do so http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/how-repair-corrupt-or-damaged-windows-system-files-system-file-checker.htm

Note that we can't take any responsibility if this fail, it might thus be a good idea to back up the files you wish to keep in case you need to do a fresh installation.

If you have a fresh installation of Windows do make sure it's up to date i.e.
Run Windows update
Install all latest drivers for your graphics card, motherboard, soudncard etc.

I did not have to reinstall Windows, it was only clean. I may have have to reinstall Windows based on the fact that the thing was posted by GM Retrofire, has also not worked. I know how to do this, for I did it last year in June for a friend who needed it done. Are there any other ideas on what I can do to fix my EVE client?

Have you noticed any other programs performing worse than before, i.e. other games or applications?

Since EVE stopped working after your computer was infected with a virus it's most likely that vital files needed for EVE to run successfully became corrupt. I'm afraid that the only solution to solve this is to reinstall Windows since trying to repair it didn't work.

It might be bothersome to do but it's the quickest and easiest way to solve this, and the Windows installation won't have any corrupt files )
