Earth based NPC rats

For a brief moment of a couple of weeks, the Eve gate functions normally. NPC's from Earth in highly advanced ships enter the scene, take up residence in various anomalies and belts, what not. There would be no notice or announcement of this.

For that moment it is possible to travel back the the Milky Way (or atleast a few systems near "our" end of the Eve gate), and explore about. Gather advanced materials and artifacts. Better make it quick, because without warning the Eve gate will slam shut again.

If you knew anything about what waits on the other side of that gate you wouldn't want that. When that gate opens EVE is on its final run. Even if all the factions of eve were to pool their resources they could not even hope to stop the Terans and their advanced weapons. Yeah sounds fun...... if we consult the lore, then yeah, no.

Jovians maybe. Or Awakened info-morphs. Or one of the forgotten races. Or maybe the EOM.

Anything but Terans.

Well, what makes you think that they would be more advanced... or even human? Maybe we were wiped out here in the Milky Way. Maybe the EVE Gate catastrophe set MW humans back several thousand years.

because our end, the shrapnel end of the gate implosion, was what was hit, and it only affected a small region of stars, the Terrans were spread across the entirety of hte milky way (not really Terrans anymore, are they?).

Not only that, but the whoel reason that new eden collapsed so abruptly was that we REQUIRED the terrans for resources and etc. cause we were colonies, and vastly underdeveloped comapred to the empire. The terrans were capable of self-suffiency and literally swimming in tech, even if the eve-gate had hit them, they have all the toys, data, and materials still laying around to rebuild from exponentially faster then us.

So in conclusion, no, we should not meet the terrans, because they would wreck our ****, prolly firing pulsar-stars out of frigate-grade weapons or some crazy ****.

The eve gate should open eventually. Be it 20 years from now, it'll happen. But a lot needs to happen before then.

Ah no. Teran bad idea that like asking Hay can we fight the jove you like to lose ships alot dont you.

CCP has show one Teran weapon that layed waste to a very large Minmatar fleet and insta pop the whole fleet in one shot and thats counting the titan they has so meeting Terans bad idea.

Rember what happen after that weapon was used? Do ya ill remind you they lost it. Bloodraiders and minmatar ships found it in a drove hive and to keep the bloodradiers from getting there hands on the minmatar shot the drone hive and riped space and time and now that why we got the wormholes.

So you want Teran npc that are light year a head of jove tect ya ok one teran bs sould be able to hold off concord so HELL NO.

make jovians a playable race, everything is 8x or 10x training speed (no higher to compensate for the lower end skills being 8/10x) and beable to fly their ships, introduce jov tech carriers and supers and titans and then maybe after 6 years of training we may be ready to fae the terran hordes.

Well, the drawbacks to this idea that were pointed out above are why the gate would have to slam shut again. The Earthly rats that make it through would be fairly "low level" ships that happened to be close by when the gate reopened.
Frigates and such. Perhaps these Earthlings hate CONCORD and their ultra powerful frigs would lay waste to CONCORD ships in a system every couple of weeks and then fade away for a while.... essentially making that high sec system a 0.0 system for a day.

Maybe the Earthling rats would trade with the Jove.

The high value artifacts would not be reproducible. The artifacts would be literally unique, but extremely valuable - enough so that it would be worth while to send a 100 ship fleet to try and capture one.

no. never ever ever ever ever open the eve gate or have anything associated with it at all. it is the biggest, most over-arching mystery in all of the lore. leave it be

PS if you are caught in the MIlky Way when the gate slams shut... that is it for that character. Out of range to pop back into a clone.

Great rewards only come with great risk.

Hmm... a twist on this... another EVE Gate appears. It is the replacement for the first gate. It won't let New Eden ships back though to the Milky Way. Try and they pop you (and your capsule).

As it turns out, it is not capable of transporting a huge number of ships per unit time, so the rats that pop out are far and few between (but powerful).

A decision is made by CONCORD to destroy the gate. Everyone can bombard it, but the loot and materials dropped by EG2 when it pops are going to be well worth fighting over.

I ;like the idea of annother NPC faction ,and has been suggested it could be one of the forgotten factions like EOM.Eventually it will gives us more faction ships to play with, and maybe a new form of PVP to go with them ,like totally drone based ,or a mix of gellente and amarr tech really good amour tank amd mix of hybrid and energy weapons ect.But as to the EVE gate reopening no bad idea ,as others have pointed out MW humans ,would be extreamly powerfull ,even compard to the Jovians ,and surly their 1st order of bussiness would be to reclaim their lost territories ,and sucure new resoureces .That would mean the entire cluster banding together ,and an end to the present empire rivaliies ect which we are building on now.

The Terrans would have the equivalent of Tech 100. Whereas the Jovians are barely at Tech 5. And we pod pilots, the gods of EvE, are only now scratching at Tech 3.

So unless you want to see drones that can solo our Titans... no thanks.

In all honesty, I think the Terrans are dead. After such a long time, they should have reached a level where they could simply get out of our universe and travel anywhere in the multiverse, including distant places in our own universe; this, basically, is the same principle of orbital flights. They shouldn't need EVE to reach us, and you think they wouldn't have tried it already?

All of this, of course, assuming String Theory is real.

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.

SPOILER ALERT:

To be completely honest, if I remember correctly, Jovians were the weakest of the Terran people(s). When they came through the Eve Gate, and it collapsed behind them, they found themselves at a notable advantage among all of the others and wound up being what they are today - a race with the most advanced technology but are brittle and frail as a people due to their genetic condition.

That being said, among the people(s) who came through the gate were not only the Jovians but the four races that we can play currently as well as (hypothetically) the sleepers. This is explained in Templar One, which goes into depth as to who the Sleepers are, why they are in fact Sleepers and their relation to all entities in New Eden.

Capsuleers practically hunt them down and mercilessly butcher them in order to obtain technology, this technology is provided (second hand) to the Amarr, Caldari, Gallente and Minmatar nations which use them for all manner of things. Including the up-and-coming infantry clone technologies we'll be seeing in Dust 514 as it can't (technically) be reproduced, it has to be processed from Sleeper technology.
