Gentlemen,

We are here today to discuss the concerns of the denizens of both low-sec and null-sec space over hi-sec mining profits. To start, we hi-sec miners share your concern with the cost of minerals per unit going down and we applaud your interest in making us even more profitable than we are now.

Finding the right solution so everyone concerned benefits is of paramount importance and requires a two pronged attack. I think you will agree the following two simple changes will benefit both the low-sec / null-sec citizen and hi-sec miners by increasing demand for our minerals, our profits as a result, and thus allay the worry over hi-sec mining profits.

The current system of grouping a number of corporations under a single alliance flag, coupled with the easy ability to blue half of the power blocs in Eve, is at the heart of a beneficial solution. Firstly, and most importantly, the grouping of corporations under an alliance flag should be repealed. Secondly, the number of friendlies the resulting single corporations can Blue should be reduced to a maximum of ten.

What happens once these two changes are in effect? In one swift blow, the number of targets in null-sec will increase dramatically. More targets, closer to home, creates a windfall of pvp opportunity. This is good news for everyone who pvp's. Pvpers will no longer have a need to go 30 and even 40 jumps before they are finally able to find targets. Those targets may only be five or ten jumps away!

Considering targets will be much closer than they were before, the resulting increase in ship explosions will increase demand for a miners lifeblood, minerals. As you know, when there is more demand for an item, that item has a tendancy to increase in price. This is a win win for both hi-sec miners and low-sec / null-sec citizens as it will increase demand for our services and make us more profitable. Neither of our groups will need to worry about the price of minerals per unit falling for quite some time.

Thank-You for your time.

Well, that escalated quickly.

Or you could just wait for the Dust equipment to be manufacturable in Eve. It will split the current mineral resources between a much wider variety of manufacturable items which MAY increase the cost of all items in the game. Manufacturers will be happy about this, and there will be a larger demand for minerals, which hopefully will mean increased mineral prices.

Putting artificial restrictions on alliance standings wont affect gameplay. The big alliances will find ways around it.
