it won't, at all.
only thing that's going to affect an establishment like Jita is if CCP pick the whole system up, move it to the arse end of nowhere and surround it for 10 jumps in all directions by nullsec.

on a related note, im not really against that ;)

Fewer neutral reps, and that's about it.

Hopefully, but I still think there's a moderate chance that the opposite thing might happen. Some people might start fielding logistics chains so large that they can't be broken even if a moderate amount of neutrals decides to interfere. They have high speed, low signature radius, and the capacity for high EHP, so alpha wouldn't work very well either.

Massive logistics amounts are already prevalent in some high-sec "conflicts," so I wouldn't be too surprised if it goes in this direction. There really isn't a whole lot people can do about two dozen guardians.

I always thought that logistics should have stacking penalties. Maybe they already do and I just don't realize it; I never used or received RR before.

And boom goes the dynamite.

No stacking penalties, that would make about as much sense as a stacking penalty on a second local repper. The delay on armour reps might matter, but it seems more likely they'll just make sure to use shield boats. One thing I could see happening if there's a coordinated response is serious bumping going on, possibly along with webs and point (probably in range-bonused ships).

Actually, you might see more people jumping neutral logi than you'd think, there are always people looking for that "easy kill" and if that sort of logi chain is up, it could well turn into sharks scenting blood.

Even if I'm wrong, there's probably somebody ELSE looking for a challenge on the "pirate hunter" side.

Cool, then remove stacking penalties on EWar and webs.

And boom goes the dynamite.

The new crimewatch and bounty system will literally be the end of EVE. The new mechanics allow griefing on a scale never before seen. Every peaceful miner, missioner, and incursion pilot will have bounties on their head so big they'll be forced to run L3s in non-shiny ships and mine in Procurers to avoid being a tasty gank target. Subs will drop dramatically and the only people left playing will fly arty Thrashers in the hopes they can catch one of the few other people left on the server, and hopefully shoot first.

Yeah, but where's the bounty money coming from? I can see an initial rash of bounties being placed on people once crimewatch drops, but eventually a little fiscal responsibility will settle things down.

OTOH, I can see bounties being used by larger industrial corps to drive out the competition.

The bounty isk comes from alliances that have huge cash piles and hate high sec, especially miners. One trillion isk means a 10 million isk bounty on every high sec inhabitant. And those alliances have far far more than a trillion isk.

I'm so hoping they don't change it, and that it will indeed work this way.

However, it makes me feel a little bad for barges.

I've been seeing a bit of complaint along the line of "CCP is taking from us", and here CCP is giving you something HUGE.
The bounty system could allow for true economic warfare; I personally think that's awesome, but I know that a lot of people are going to end up pretty pissed.

CCP keeps saying that high sec is still not a safe place, and that they don't intend to remove ganking. This looks like ganker heaven to me, but with a cost. I won't hold it against anyone for being upset with this; even though I think it'll make EVE more fun.

Everything in Retribution looks like it'll make EVE more fun, but I could be mental.

Remember that bounties expire if you un-sub for 6 months. If you decide to shed an unwanted bounty in that manner, be sure to tell CCP that the reason they are losing 6 months of fees is "to get rid of a bounty on my pilot". (When you unsub you get a form that asks why).
