There was no Drake.

Going to Jita to sell something was a day long activity.

Probing for Drones in mission systems after a server crash/downtime was decent ISK.

When I was a noob, nosferatus always drained regardless of opponents capacitor state, and dominixes were OP.

....the tutorial was total crap and it took me nearly a week to get out of the system i started in and my first cruiser took me 2 weeks to mine for.

When i was a noob, i thought the most important ship to have as a trader was an Itty V. After i got it, i barely even used it. Of course, the Itty at least was a stepping stone to the Viator, a ship that turned out to be every bit as awesome as i imagined it. And then some :)

Also, i didn't think that i could ever stomach training a skill that takes longer than 3 days... Right now i am training for T2 Large Artillery on this char and for T2 Salvagers on my alt.

My siren's name is Brick and she is the prettiest.

When I was a noob...

-Lowsec had loads of good fights, but no one said "gf"
-I got my ISK by ratting in low sec and selling loot from PvP
-Skill training was sloooooooooooooooow

You ran the risk of being ganked in highsec.

My name is Anosha, and I'm a noob.

As I'm still learning to crawl myself, I trained as fast as I could to a Drake.

Bigger is better, right?
More weapons equals easier kills, right?
Drake is the only boat to fly, right?

Oh ****, the nice guy in .4 is shooting at my Drake! My barely could it afford it Drake! Warp, warp, warp!

...

I'm now back in frigs and destroyers mostly, poking into low-sec, really trying to learn to be less of a noob and less of a carebear.

EvE, it's all about tear managment.

When I was a noob, autopiloting with an mwd was the fastest way to get anywhere, Kestrels had Cruise Missiles, Cruisers fit Torpedoes (which had AOE damage), Missiles would hit anything in their path rather than avoid it, the Miner II was the only Tech II item in the game, Interceptors were the first elite ships to be on the drawing board, and Titans were mythical things that only existed as concept sketches, the Leviathan was Minmatar, nobody knew or cared what a Jita was, Meta 4 modules were the best you could hope for, fleets consisted of any ship you could bring, pirates were scarier than CONCORD, null sec was doable in an mwd Stabber, conquerable stations were put into non npc 0.0 to give them a reason to be occupied... hello Fountain Alliance.

My first ever foray into 0.0 was in a Stabber, I returned with a hold of loot and corpses, ran two Stain Alliance and one Curse Alliance blockade.

My Raven had like 3 warp core stabilizers....

I just turned into an egg, did I level up? I spent an hour trying to salvage a wreck, when in local a guy said "Stop it, this is my Tempest, I was AFK"

I know my third post. This thread is really reminding me how long I've been playing and I think Eve was 5 years old when I started.

10 learning skills. 5 before I started. Some of you probably don't know what I'm talking about.Big smile

You had to train some skill to 5 before thermodynamics,

You couldn't group weapons.

Stealth bombers had cruise launchers. Already stated I know. but........

Some guy flew around in a (1)citadel launcher kestral.

Do not assume anything above this line was typed by me. Nerf the Truth, it's inconvenient.

I suppose I could chime in here

FW was coming out soon and it was going to revolutionize low sec PVP

Directional DD's

Old Cyno effects

Got ship hijacked by some pirates in low sec: Jumped into a 5 or 6 man camp. They shoot my ship to hull, and convo me, demand 15 mil to live or something like that, I decline, saying I don't have that right now ( I had the money, but thought I knew they werent going to let me live) So they offered me an alternative, they would pay me 15mil for my Myrm if I ejected and warped off in my pod. I complied, and they shockingly payed me. I warped off to some planet still in scan range, and bookmarked my ship. When another poor hapless victim jumped in, I immediately warped back and got in my ship. Unfortunately, the victim was a paper thin Iteron, and he died quickly, me, being in a huge battlecruiser didnt have the proper time to align and died a horrible death. However, I considered it (and still do) a victory on my part.
