Why did they destroy planetary mining?

Eve has completey destroyed planetary mining! The taxes imposed to move your shipment just off planet completely offset 75 percent of any money you'd make (without tax evasion skills trained)! LOL, why do they even have it, and what poor developer spent hours designing the planets, command centers, extractors, etc and lost all of his hardwork in a keystroke? Is he hanging from the CCP rafters in the basement from watching his hard work get nerfed to death? hahahahahaha Why don't they just totally do away with it already, maybe they could do away with asteroid mining too, and maybe pvp after that, I think pve should be the last thing to fix then!

You can easily escape all those taxes. Head down to Lowsec or Nullsec and set up your own POCO.

It is still profitable, just not to the extent that it was, which is honestly fine since it requires very little risk in high sec. Even post nerf, there are plenty of people making good income of of high sec PI. Do your research. Look at what is in demand and see what it will make you after taxes. As with most things in Eve, there is plenty of profit to be made if you take the time to plan. Or as Pipa suggests, find a low/null corp to join and take advantage of low-tax POCO's in those areas of space.

Blow up the POCO, replace with your own, set taxes to zero. (Or set taxes to a positive number and make money off other people's installations.)

It's not as bad as it sounds, even at 10%.

It means you have to adjust and accommodate the changes (ie - find something more profitable to do, if you're loosing too much isk on the 10%).

Don't get me wrong. I'm not keen on the tax :P but it's livable, even in highsec production levels, if you take care.

Also, in addition to the above ideas, you might try a WH corp/area for PI.

Good luck!

Most days I want to literally destroy my PI planets... like death star style.

For all of the thousands of years of evolution Eve has over modern day humans, it would be wonderful if any of the menial and senseless clicking tasks such as this could somehow be automated. You know, with computers and robots and stuff.

Dust brings orbital bombardment. It will probably be a few years before there is a patch allowing doomsday weapons to toast planets like overfried nachos.

I think nullsec PI is perfectly fine. :D I am feeling slight increasi in PI product prices.

Even in high-sec where you're paying 10% tax is it still possible to make enough isk to plex a account. Just take a look at this guy:

The pi taxes have bee here for a while now. And no adjustments will be made. High sec pi is part of the risk/isk ratio formula that eve has been following for years. You cannot expect to get low taxes in highsec. Hence why they already lowrered the amount of resources of the high sec planets. Want to make money go to nullsec. But don't expect tye big money to just wake you up in the morning from your safe high sec bed.

Don't do factory planets, and then the 10% tax reduces your income by just 10%.

A little over two weeks isn't really a month is it?

Sorry, I didn't look at the initial date, I don't go on the Forums a whole lot.
