Ok so I've just finished the fifth tutuorial career agent. I think I have completed my university studies. Really nice job by CCP introducing me to this game. There are SO many different things to do in this game.

My question is there a subsequent "tutorial" that I should progress onwards to that would be beneficial, or have I officially entered the sandbox?

a lot of players consider the sisters of eve epic arc a continuation of the tutorials. It is 50 missions that will drag you all over the universe and slowly ramp up to a more complete introduction to EVE. The Blood Stained Stars After that there really is no one who can tell you what to do. Thats the great thing about this game. You just do whatever you want.

Welcome to EVE.

Read the forums and fan sites, look at all the things you can do, try them all find 2 or 3 things you like and have fun. You do need to make ISK for skill books, ships and fittings. So make sure one of those things can make you some ISK. Get your core skills going now!!! Your core skills will always be helpful. Find a ship hull you enjoy, and train the gun/misslle skills and tank for that ship.

Do not rush to new hulls, that way lies lots of lost ships. Ask questions, for the most part this community is one of the best and worst on the mmorpg scene. A lot of helpful people all the same.

I notice you are Gal, some kewl ship hulls imho!!! Good luck and welcome to EVE online.

I'm a nerd, you can check my stats!! Skilling Int/Mem at 45 sp per minute is how I mack!     I'm like a lapdog, all bark no bite.

Just a quick note on missions, even if you do not plan to run missions as your main ISK maker, take the time very soon to get Social skill, Connections, Negotiation, Diplomacy, to 3 asap.

Welcome to Eve. Its a bit like learning to drive around a small town, passing your test, then being Given your keys to freedom. The Universe is now yours, go and enjoy it Cool

Welcome to Eve.

I'd probably recommend the Epic Arc misson as well. You get about 15Mill + NPC bounties which isn't a bad start.

Eve's pretty big therefore trying to work out what to do is slightly subjective.
To give you an idea, and probably all the options available to you, it's work checking out....

Probably because CCP considers it the final stage of the New Player Experience (NPE) Blink

There are actually three parts: tutorials, career funnel, epic mission arc.

GMs have a rule about players messing with rookies, and interfering with the players doing The Blood-Stained Stars is definitely something GMs will send you to the corner for.

Get into a corporation, you will need the experience and interaction of others to keep the game from getting boring.

Sometimes the best teacher is simply going on the road less traveled, with no one to tell you what to do or where to go, and play around with whatever you come across. You'll learn things that you won't find in the tutorials.

That's a bit insulting to the OP.

Hey Devena, welcome to EVE Online! Big smile

Glad to see you made it through the tutorial system, and if you have any feedback on how your experience went we'd definitely love to know about it.

Once you're done with the tutorials and are let loose into the sandbox as most call it, there are so many options open to you as career paths in EVE.One piece of advice that I always give to new players is to find a corporation of like minded people who do the same as what you want to do.

EVE is a very social game, and it always pays to play alongside people who have the same aims and goals. The game opens up so much and the experience has a lot more depth when you start interacting with other players and starting to get involved with group orientated play styles.

The easiest ways to search for a corporation are via the Alliance & Corporation Recruitment Forum and of course by using the recruitment searching tool in game. This is pretty easy to use and can be found under the recruitment tab after clicking the Corporation button on your Neocom. Here you can filter and search for a corporation from all those that have placed a recruitment advertisement.

You can also find out more about getting started from the EVElopedia New Player Experience Index, and there are also quite literally hundreds of player created wikis and guides out there that encompass pretty much every career path you could hope for in EVE.

There is also a very extensive list of player run Educational Organizations that cater to training people into many of the roles you'll find are available as a newly graduated capsuleer!

As always, there's an awesome group of EVE players in this thread who're already giving good advice, and I would definitely recommend that you do try out the Epic Arc too, just to provide a little more piloting experience and some much needed additional startup funding.

Hope this helps, and good luck out there! Big smile

Here comes the endless discussion of joining a Player Corporation or not.

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1995732#post1995732

The link provides Oraac's vision on why not to join and my vision on why you should, the end decision is something we can not help you with, you have to choose what to do yourself.

But I agree with Oraac that Alex' post is a bit blunt, plenty of people master EVE without joining a corporation and many will never get bored from it. It's all personal playstyle.

One of the biggest mistakes with eve is new players are introduced into the pve aspect mainly and not pvp

I apologize if I came off insulting or blunt. I based my suggestion to the OP on my own experience. Without the day to day interaction of others I tend to get lonely and bored.

One can certainly do ok without joining a player corporation. My Alex character is such a case, he has his own one man corporation for the sole purpose of avoiding NPC corp taxes.

I would strongly advise you to think carefully before joining a player corporation (as opposed to staying in an NPC corp), as doing so will allow any member of another player corp currently at war with your corp to attack you at will without CONCORD or local navy intervention. You should ideally be prepared for pvp anytime anywhere and expect little or no assistance from anyone outside of your corp or alliance.
