Assuming they look up of course. They'll more than likely be too busy shooting each other to fight against us.

I for one completely support the idea of "Precision Strike" or "Nuke everything".

"Nuke Everything" wouldn't necessarily be a double cross. Losing the battle? Scorched Earth.

Infantry contracts will most likely soon include "insurance" for DUST 'fits' lost due to friendly fire from an orbital strike, whether as an emergent feature or through an escrow system. This would be a direct parallel to EvE corps that provide free hull/fit replacement for PvP ships.

I look forward to running both side by side and nuking my own base. Pretty easy to do if you plan to play dust. Though if it doesnt go in at launch CCP will probably put in some safeguard where the commander has to approve bombardments or something.....so thenI just have to become a commander and nuke my scrubs. Its not like 99% of the players are gonna pay attention to who they are jumping into a match with.

Great idea OP. I give two thumbs up... CCP will hate this though.. I'm sure concord will save the mercs... Ugh

I was thinking about this ... we know that at launch DUST will only have an impact on high and low-sec planets. Also, and in all honesty, i'm not sure if planetary bombardment will come to the game before null-sec combat. But let's just assume that it does.

Is there any information on how exactly planetary bombardment will work on EVE side?! Will any and all pilots be free to unleash hell on DUST bunnies without any sort of pre-requisites?

When i read Ytterbium post about planetary bombardment destroyers, the idea of suicide ganking planets immediatly came to mind. Obviously we don't know how the mechanics will play out, but if its possible for dest pilots to freely bombard DUST bunnies then this will be hilarious.

Griefing console players will be the quickest way to kill Dust. Horrible idea imo.

No it's good.
ATM seems the bombardment module has specific drawbacks (you need support because you can't do whatever while using this mod) and also seems you can perfectly blow up bombardment ships from the planet surface.
Then you can also gank those bombarding in high sec or simply engage them in low sec with your cloacky bomber/T3 since they can't do whatever.
Hope those ganking bunnies in high sec get flag so they can be engaged by every one, this would bring more pvp targets, of course random risk averse pawn will cry because he's not safe bulling others, but those don't matter anyway.

the Japanse will become uber infantry soilders of all time in online FPS. (PS3 owners are mostly Japanese)

The harder the environment - the better the skill - I've been to the nightmare, and trust me you don't want to come out.

Bombardment will make them stronger, we will have a new race of planetary mercenaries.

One day CCP lets them into WiS and with guns, and there will be no survivors.

This post sums up why the 'best' work with DCM inc.

WARP DRIVE makes eve boring

really - add warping align time 300% on gun aggression and eve becomes great again

C'mon, man... DUSTies can screw with Eve players, but we can't screw with DUSTies.

That's perfectly fair, yeah? +1 for CCP Games.

Yeah, dump hundreds of $$$ into hardware to play ONE console game. Yeah, another WIN idea from EveO forums. Roll

I think we're on to something here...

So the match starts, and everyone in orbit begins to randomly and without any limitations bombard the battlefield killing 95% of the Dusties on the surface. They respawn and are again killed by this bombardment. This continues until the game times out or everyone disconnects to it. This persists for every match being played everywhere in lowsec and finally the game utterly tanks because nobody really wants to play a Orbital Bombardee for that long. CCP is bankrupted and collapses, New eden dies.

Ultimate PvP win.

With the bunnies having big guns that can shoot back at ships would be quite funny taking out smartarse gankers and griefers before they target locked Big smile

Dust is doomed to fail, and it currently exists in my mind only as a marker on the road to a P2W/F2P/plex whoring Eve model. The console market by definition is a snatch and grab market. Get your product, drop it, milk it for a few months, and get the **** out. This is NOT what Eve is about. Apart from internet spaceships, Eve has and should always be about building a rich, risk rewarding, and long term gaming environment that grows over time in both scale and complexity.
The only way dust could work and be successful was if it was integrated directly into TQ/Eve client and allowed current subscribers to experience a new facet of eve. They could even still make money off of it by charging for a second 'dust client expansion'; at which point it essentially becomes a reincarnation of the old mom tactics, which honestly wouldn't be a bad thing.

The whole concept behind dust is kind of bunk. I mean, what is more quintessential to eve than the fact that failing has consequences? What fps actually has consequences? You just respawn, there is no risk, and thus real reward. Such a mentality doesn't foster the kind of environment we enjoy as Eve players.

It seems fair. They pay the subscriptions, we just play for free....

You obviously never watched that part of fanfest, so let me explain how it works...

Dustbunny "paints" a target/area on the battlefield and a "launch code" is given. EVE player with a ship sits in orbit, with a certain fit for orbital bombardment. He imputs the launch code on a pop-up when the module is activated. Then you get to shoot at said planet, and only at the target that's "painted".

This issue can easily be solved. Make Dust character, have fun painting targets all the time while bombarding with your EVE main. And just to make it clear you're an EVE d*ckhead paint your friendlies too. Actually i think i might sell this service since i own a PS3 "WTS opportunities to bomb dustbunnies"

People dump hundreds (sometimes thousands) of $$$ to play one PC game (Eve) quite often. So for some, it's not a bad idea.

Though getting on a game forum to ***** about how unfair the game company is to you through another game is a pretty win idea, I guess.

Yeah, but imagine the rage flowing the other way when they then introduce something like the Bolo Mark XXX that can take out DN class ships from the surface (and would only be fair, let them have a chance at ganking ships in orbit) Pirate
