Back after a few months - inventory still not fixed

I've gotten mostly used to the inventory system, but there are still times when it's pretty ******* annoying, like when I'm in my station, I hit the inventory button, and I get my ship's cargo. Sometimes I get station inventory, sometimes I get ship cargo. The extra clicking to do what the old system required with minimal clicking is irritating, but I also appreciate the search function.

Could use more work.

I have it jury rigged enough that I am not to the point of putting my fist through the screen, and there are a couple useful features (search window and volume tracking) but the rest is a waste. The only use I have for the 'tree' is because you HAVE to use it to open corp hangars (which is a large waste of screen real estate). Looting on the fly still sucks because it is much slower and a garbled mess (there are ways of looting that do not involve just sucking everything up in one spot with a Noctis).

Its probably as good as it is going to get by now.

If you are willing to quit EVE Online over inventory UI, something is seriously wrong with you.

The new video Dev Blog indicates that the inventory is going to get more improvements. From what was said and the notes on the wall behind her it seems to center around corp hanger and large inventory issues.

It works best for large inventories cause of filters :D

You havent found the "always open in a new window" option yet have you?

you can't have more then 1 window open at a time, the old inventory system was pretty much perfect... the new one sucks, but it's bearable.

Yes you can! Right-click > Open in new window, or change your settings to always open in new window.
I suspect there would be a lot less whining about this if people actually took the time to, you know, learn how things work.

We may never have the superior inventory system back, I can understand the reasons why as they spent a buttload of money coding it then 4 times more tying to fix it and don't want to toss all that out the window, I'm guessing that CCP will soon stop trying to fix it then all us heavy inventory users will be screwed.

But I will predict that sometime in the not so near future a version of the old inventory system will make a come back, I can't see the UI hanging around for the rest of Eve's lifespan.

Whomever is making the last few years decisions on what changes are to be implemented in this game, must hate Eve with all their being.

I was one of those initially rabidly against it (for the very reason you mentioned, large amounts of stuff as a pain to deal with).

However, after several months I can say it is just as usable as the old one, and a little more usable in some areas.




Of course, it still sucks that there is still more lag when opening a can in space

If you don't see the problem you haven't dealt with huge inventories on regular basis. ******* nightmare.


he is right you know beside a few minor bugs/glitches I still have to experience the inventory is pretty handy compared to the old 20 + open windows
but if you can't even bother to explain what problems you have with it , ( shrugs)

I organized i sort all my crap into station warehouses

IE categorys,

Shields, Armor, Engineering Drones, etc

makes finding what i want so much easier.

Should try it. might help ya :).

Not sure if inventory is still crap or I just got used to it.
But seriously, they fixed it pretty good, and I did hate it when it came out. Maybe if you could explain what the problem is..
