It is no more a good idea to let the killboard be a fan project.
Every day eve-kill.net is down for some time. Somestimes the stats load, sometimes not. It is just enough. X

But there is no way to leak T2 BPOs through a killboard site. Why would CCP be interested in setting one up?

CCP could create a third-party killboard in disguise, it would have great server uptime and stability, but CCP would deny all knowledge of owning and running it.

Then they could fill it full of terrible ads and make a fortune offf people that don't know how to use adblock.

God no, they'll use ASP and it'll break on a regular basis (not necessarily related)

Either that or they'll take a perfectly good killboard package and screw it up like they did when they used an open source forum package and broke it by adding their own security measures, that weren't secure Roll

Killboards are dumb though.

With the increase in shiptoasting, the Report timer needs to be shortened.

Well, they are working on official killboards... just not the way the kb players want.

Why would CCP wants to invest money, time and resources to host an "official" killboard if there are already 3rd party people doing it?

The only involvement CCP should have in this is potentially providing a hosting service.

People should stop putting so much value into kill-mails.

EVE-Kill is good enough, just some hardware troubles but their facebook says they will replace the server saturday. Next week we can expect better uptime.

Stop complaining and just donate some money to the guys of EVE-Kill

Eve kill has an easy sollution..
All they got to do is create a page where people can donate their databases/server resources and then use those resources to turn the evekill into a cloud of multiple donated servers..

But evekill basically stated they would rather keep it at home as they are greedy with all that killboard informatiion. Their greed will be there own undoing..

If CCP were to release all the killmails, then i would happily code all this up and release it.
