Are any of you watching Felix make his jump today? He is like half-way to height and will soon jump from his balloon, at 23 miles up! Watch it live here!

Yeah, i'm watching my fellow countryman.

Wouldn't it be hilarious if he died and hundreds of millions of people watch him die ?

That's my way of wishing him luck. ^_^

Thank you. I didn't realise this was going to be done live. Watching and loving it.

Is that black triangle/curve on the bottom right of the screen space, or just the edge of what the camera lens is capturing?

You asked for it ...

Don't forget to mention Hitler and in case the name is censored,
it's the one starting with an H and he had issues with "juice".

I also want to point out that one of our guys not only was related to the start of world war 2,
but also world war 1 and i'm, of course, looking forward to world war 3.

Here's a small list of famous/known austrians, by no means complete.

They move the camera to an angle where you really can see the edge. They say the curve is exaggerated due to wide angle lenses, but you can see the curve of the earth from up there.

He's referred to as '18' over there. I'm sure you can figure out what '18' means.

No idea what you're talking about, but i'm going to go with it being an alien vessel.

Actually, the camera is revolving now and that black edge should move with it, so I think it's just the edge of what the camera lens is capturing.

Does that guy make sense ?

He says, it gets colder and colder the higher you go and then it gets warmer,
because you get closer to the sun.

What ?

By that logic, shouldn't it be really hot in space ? o_O

The more vacuum you meet the less stuff that can export the heat away from you. If you would jump out of ISS you probably die of overheating before you choke on the absence of oxygen.

I noticed that too. It's kind of like claiming it's hotter in the tropics because they're closer to the sun. The announcer doesn't know what he's talking about.

I wonder what the red button on the outside of the capsule is for.

I'm kind of curious - if the balloon's material were made of a darker translucent material, could the balloon rise higher, given that it would raise the temperature of the gas inside?
