Visual vs Mechanical : What would be cool?

After watching "EvE Never Fades" for the 100th time,
I realize that even back then eve was "beautiful". Maybe not as graphically complex, but beautiful.
I noticed parts in the video where storms in space and Nebula appear to be within player accessible space... like in real life.

I'd love to picture eve as a universe where interstellar travel is possible, but having only solar systems as location landmarks deprives eve of some potentially epic visual and mechanical scenes. I would love to go visit a nebula, but also experience E-War effects from the cloud. An oxygen nebula* would cause explosions to be more powerful, but EM damage would be slightly masked. Oxygen would also cause shields to be slightly effect, but have no effect on hard matter. (well en less rust is worthy of experiencing) [*I'm not a physicist]

The Nebula : Already having made an appearance from CCP that they were being looked at, i want them to have a mechanical impact as well as a visual one. Gas and Compounds in Nebula will cause effects to matter as a general rule; Gas may weaken shields, Harden Shields, Soften Armour, Harden Armor, and even cause differences to the ships propulsion. (when you take a jet and put it into water, it's going to experience extreme difficulty getting out of it; impossible.) After having looked at every topic I've noticed in F&I related to non-solar system locations, I'm not alone on the idea of non-solar system space. I would like this to happen, Would you like to see this happen??

Planets : I wish planets weren't just textured spheres in eve. That picture linked via "Planets" is what planets should look like. Gates should also be closer to the planet as they are technically stations. Planets in eve are too small. (in real life you can see mars when its orbit is closest to earths). There's very rarely a fight on a planet that's truly epic. (fleet A finds fleet B at a planet, no one cares there's a planet within 1000 km.) CCP keeps making videos of these "epic" fights, but they simply don't happen in eve. I want the atmospheres and physical objects of planets to play a role in eve mechanics. Entering an atmosphere causes gravity to have an effect on your ship, and that giant object of [rock, gas, ice, dirt] should definitely have the ability to destroy your ship. Atmosphere's however can be mechanical for fights as ship propulsion would be effected by the planet, and the matter of what the planets atmosphere is made of may have direct effects to the ship. This would experience significantly more weight when Dust 514 comes out and eventually planetary interaction at the physical level. I would like this to happen, Would you like to see this happen??

Ship Wrecks : Maybe a few of you laugh at this topic, but once again i would like to see something in eve not just be an "object". Everything in eve is made of matter. This may not be possible with the worlds current technology (processing every ship wreck in an area as a potential projectile would cause significant server lag in today's eve.) But ship wrecks should be much more then things you can salvage. You should have to worry about them colliding with your ship. We run into the problem that wrecks would cause a mess in huge fleet fights, but i'm going to argue that even a scrapyard can exist and put your ship at serious risk. You CAN smash into debris. Eventually i would like to see wrecks as chunks of a ship effected by the laws of physics. (pieces of a ship [in structure] should be breaking off at their current velocity as the ship crumbles. And without effect of gravity, the wreck will carry on traveling at that speed indefinitely) This also introduces crippling to ships. (very important in capital ship warfare.) Me being optimistic as normal, Would you like to see this happen??

As my night gets longer,
I want to turn the stage to the eve community.
I have so many things to talk about; but unlike a lot of people who just simply complain, i prefer to bring up the hard lines.

Along with those 3 topics, what would you like to see have both a strong visual and strong mechanical influence in eve, eventually (tm).

Your eyes are quite visual. You do mechanical?

Good read.

I'll answer this when existing eve has been fixed/revamped to the point where visual issues like this become more important again. Nothing wrong with the ideas, but timing is not favouring them.

+1

Good read, but not important right now. You do see the lightning on some planets, don't you ?

It hurts,
but i agree with you and made sure to touch this point.

Its hard to consider wrecks being more then they now considering we can barely get a 500 man fleet to fight free of lag. (without filling out paperwork, which really doesn't help much.)

You can now get a lot more than 200 v 200 fights free of lag, or with minimal lag.

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

Nothing that has not been said before. But saying it again is a good thing and you did it well.

Supported.

*RAMBLING AHEAD*

I remember playing eve for my first time in '07,
Mining at an asteroid belt somewhere in Gallente space. Close to a planet with a red sun just coming around the side of the planet casting a glow on the belt. Me and my Iteron were happy, it was just awesome. This scene stopped me from going afk!

EVE used to be huge!
After playing eve for 4 years, eve just seems so small now.

I wish missions weren't just in and out. A campaign would be amazing.
I'm sure a majority of you have played the game freelancer.
If something like the freelancer story line existed in eve, eve would be so cool!
Being able to do these missions in groups would further this.

I guess what I'm saying is, fix it before you improve it. and;
don't try to fix something that isn't broken.

I like the idea of bigger planets. I'd love to have the planets fill up at least half of the screen when you warp to one, to make you feel like you're actually in orbit, not just near it.

I'd also like to see cases where you're positioned ABOVE the planet, so the top of your ship is facing space and the bottom is facing the planet. It would make big fleet battles seem cooler in my opinion, like the beginning battle of Revenge of the Sith.

Here are some screenshots to demonstrate what i'm talking about:
Mega above planet

While I agree with your points on the missions, I think if you do not take breaks from time-to-time, any game will feel smaller after 4 years. You have seen most if not all of what interests you.

I took breaks from EVE several times and every time I returned, I was back in love with the game. But I needed the break. Big smile
