I was visiting my parents, avid Apple fans, when i bought the Playbook. The first hour I was tinkering around with it I found at least 5 different things the PB could do and my dad's ipad couldn't do. flash/multitasking/network shares/gps receiver/plays any sort of media format you throw at it, just to name a few.

Also is there a EVE app in the works to play the game on my IPAD?

LOL@ipad
Is it too late to take it back and buy a Nexus 7? Or an ASUS pad? Something with a Nvidia Tegra processor?
ipad is just trendy, my condolences on your purchase.
Anyway, to answer your question:
NO! P
ipad wasn't built for games.

I'm sure iPad / iOS 6 is good for someone. But for me, i'm just getting more stupid by using that (yes i have tested iOS 6, because i have tested iOS 2, 3, 4 and 5 that is pretty much 100% the same as iOS 6), because it's made to hold your hand while your using it, that will say it's so poor on functionality that i'm rather getting pissed / fustrated over it.

I know it's good when things are easy to use, but when it's made way to easy to use, then it rather gets boring very fast.

Android 4.x.x ---> is the future of mobile devices. The reason for that is because iOS doesn't develop at all compared to Android.

Here is a list of my current EVE / PVP videos:

1: Asteroid Madness

2: Clash of the Empires

3: Suddenly Spaceships fighting in Tama

There are some good metegaming apps on android for EVE though. With CCP working on WoD, I have no hopes for a portable version of EVE for the future, sadly. It's being done on Tegra with other mmo's though (PC + Android), but CCP is rather targeting the console gamerz presently Roll EVE would run well on android using the older models. Edit: And it would run well right now, not years down the line waiting for platform development as would be the case for ipad. And it wouldn't be as large of an investment as is with DUST or WoD.

If you have been looking at the Nexus 7, rumors are they are producing a $150 model, should be around soon. They are basically sold at cost, Google makes no money from them, so you are getting something of a much higher caliber than an entry level tablet. Other plus is a very very indie friendly development platform without meddling as is the case with apple and their selection/review standards (control freaks). I have a Nexus 7, adore it, five stars straight up.

I've had both iDevices and Android products. I'd have to have an honest non trolling opinion here...

Any iDevices are easy to use/setup, but you're very limited to what you can do. You have to use iTunes for any media transferring, which is utter complete BS! And you have to convert file types to watch any vids.

Android on the otherhand takes a little getting used to, but that just might be from using iDevices for a few years now. The one thing I like is native everything! No jailbreaking of any sort is needed to do something, like use emulators! It took me all of 2mins to figure out how to install the emulator (available for free in the store) and when you connect the device into a computer, it shows as a normal USB device, and I have full access to the file system! Drag and drop, back and forth! Did I fail to mention that it supports all video formats?

Price wise, Apple blows! Brand new iPad costs what? $800 give or take? And what's its specs? Dual core 1GHz, 16GB, with a battery life of 7-8 hours? I spent less then $300 on my Nexus 7 with carrying case! Quad core 1.3GHz anyone? I have managed to get 13 hours of battery life through constant usage. Same amount of memory though.

Oh yeah, failed to mention the part about the ability to see any and all files within my home network, and stream all programs/music/pictures, and this is right out of the box!

I don't have an iPad, but for playing EVE on your iPad, you could try buying an app, "Splashtop 2"...
It connects with a client on your computer that you can use to play the game with, if you have any Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I've seen videos of it running pretty smoothly, but then again, it might not work at all because of the lag (depends on your internet connection and latency).
