Gender Equality

People gonna hate, but based on feedback from a GM on a peition (who told me to post here), here goes nothing:

Having played this game for the best part of 8 years now, it has come to my attention that you indeed try to model EVE on real life issues. To a great extent, you have done an excellent job with this. However I feel now, after somewhat of a brain attack, that there is an important aspect you have overlooked. I am a transvestite, a man, trapped in a womans body. Now, I can´t do anything about my physical appearance, but I can do something about my clothes. I do like to wear female clothing, in both a fashion sense, and as a statement.

Nothing turns heads faster than a sleek plunging red dress and a nice hairy chest with a bushle of chest hair. It makes me feel somewhat relaxed to know that in real life I can do this, and be comfortable with it, but gender equality in EVE is somewhat lacking. I should (as a long term player) at least have the right to complain about my character not being able to wear a Women's 'Avenue' Shirt (orange camo)

I modelled my character on my rough real life appearance, and I seek justification that I can wear womens clothes as I feel it is a gross violation of my human rights.

CCP has already said that the lack of support for genders wearing the opposite gender's clothing is due to the added development costs it would require for the avatar models to accurately wear said clothing. It has nothing to do with any social stance or political view. It has to do with them prioritizing resources.

The mathematics for applying clothes on boobs are to much for the developers to handle while they actually add features to the game.

With the exception of high heels possibly, I could suggest some simple shortcuts.

Create a cat-suit model. (Skin tight spandex covering everything but the face)
Create a nude model. (I would expect this to already exist as a base model for existing clothing)

Combine the two to give the effect of tight fitting outfits. For externalized details like frills or other polygon heavy items, save that for later, possibly for Aur.

Now, I understand this does take time, but many art development processes create unused models that are not used, so they may already exist.

Just brainstorming.

here is how to make it better

1 turn off CQs
2 make avatar a headshot only
3 buy an androgynous spaceship
4 success, eve is better for you and everyone else

Haha.....

This OP is outrageous enough to have earned my support for sheer audacity.

+1

Now if only us ladies could get away with bare chests and an outer jacket...

Eve is about Capital ships, WiS, Boobs, PI and Isk!

Do you mean a woman trapped in a man's body? If you're a man traped in woman's body wouldn't having a male avatar in manly clothes do it for you? I guess the reverse is true too.

The thing is if you're man on the outside but you fell like a woman on the inside, having female avatar should be the ideal situtaion. Transvestites seem to go to the extremes to look like the oposite sex in Eve it's just a click away. Or am I thinking of the other tranny. I don't really know the difference and I don't feel any more educated. Yes crossdressing in game amusing, but really not needed. Just make your avatar reflect your inner self. Unless you inner self is half & half, than you're just screwed.

Do not assume anything above this line was typed by me. Nerf the Truth, it's inconvenient.

In typical tired parent parent fashion, I give you the end result:

No clothes for anyone. Be glad I don't your spaceships away too.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Probably gonna get flamed for this, but I think he didn't make a mistake. He IS a man trapped in a woman's body... with hairy breasts it seems. Maybe his manlyhood is pouring out?

Make it idiot-proof and someone will make a better idiot.

Its a game and what you are in the real world dont matter plus it would take alot of time and doing code to do what you ask and to tell the truth its a waste of time for something that means nothing other then your own self worth.

Let get ccp to fix whats wrong with the game before adding in needless stuff.
