Now, to me this seems to be either a bug or a security hole in the contract system as it doesnt check that you are trading the same item ...
To me its not right and i believe this wasn't intended ... in other words you are paying money for an item which u receive and then you give it back ... how is this normal ?

Anyway, my point is, check twice, 3 times, 4 times or more any contracts you are about to conclude, trust no one !


An even better one is contracts for a fully fitted ship.

You check the contract and it has the rigs, fittings, script, even ammo. but sometimes the ship they claim to be selling is not in the list. Only the stuff you would normally fit on it.

These scams only work on those who are greedy enough to cloud their judgement.

If it looks to good to be true it is a scam. Even if you do not see it right away, look closer, assume it is a scam until you have considered every possible way it could be used to hurt you. Some are actually valid contracts, but at null sec stations you do not have access to. Or if you can pick it up, expect to get ganked when you undock.

There is occasionally a contract where the issuer had a typo and forgot a "0" on the price or added a "0" to the items sold. But you will never ever find one of these mistakes advertised in JITA local.

If it is in JITA local assume it is a scam. If you can not see what makes it a scam then you are not looking hard enough. The reason these scams are so prevalent is that there are far to many players who fall for them. Whether it is new players with to much extra money that buy a big pile of PLEX to get isk to start the game with, or players whose first language is not english that have a harder time identifying the scams. These scams are common because they work. Enough players fall for them to make the time put into the scam well worthwhile.

I actually saw something advertised in Jita local that wasn't a scam. It was so novel, I bought one.
