Should CCP make Player Flyable Fighters

I have been going over the stats for fighters and frigates and fighters come out on top.

Fighters have warp drive like frigates and as big or bigger than frigates but take way less volume. Looking down the list speed wise Fighters are faster, tank goes to the fighter. DPS is can be the same or more than its frigate counter part.

Hey now I am not saying give everyone a fighter to fly right of the bat. Give a special skill and make it t2 or fraction ship. Even make them with out lots of slots and with module restrictions.

A rifter with 12 SC wings of fighters guarding it makes for a surprise package :)

It will
but who will need a fleet of capitals when you can have a fleet of fighters, a Orca or other larger cargo hold ship with a large tank and some logis supporting it will be hard to beat. The Orca dropping off new fighters to replace the destroyed ones.

o.O what's the difference between what you're proposing and having a dozen frigates with MWDs parked next to a S.Carrier (except that if you put a dozen frigs together with a S.Carrier you get Fighters and small player-controlled ships too)?

fighters have pilots. Say you have to dock in a carrier with your pod, then you'll have the option to undock in a fighter if the carrier pilot lets you.

I fail to see why this would be better than flying a frigate, but docking in a carrier sure would be nice.

I iike the idea.

It would be a perfect way to get new players to nulsec and make them actually very useful, even neccessary!
And to make carriers into a sort of battlestar galactica where you can dock and have your CQ and a corp hangar is a very nice idea.

Sure just as soon as we get anti drone stuff like a new dessie with flak cannons that dont directly have to target ships rather spam flak into space.

I would have liked it if the new console game CCP was planning was a game where we controlled fighters in the EVE universe rather than mercenaries on planets.

I think the fighters in Cap ships should REQUIRE pilots...so you need 11 pilots to run a carrier and its 10 fighter...and 26 for an SC... :)
