Players With Bounties On Them Shouldn't Have CONCORD Protection

If CCP really cared about EVE and wanted to make Bounty Hunting(r) a viable profession they would do this.

By removing CONCORD protection from anyone with a bounty a bounty hunter will be able to actually fulfill the request even in hi sec. It doesn't make sense that you can't kill someone with a bounty on them with no consequences in hi sec.

inb4 hundreds of ways to abuse this with 5k bounties.
IMO, the level of concord protection should be proportional to their sec status (which it already is) and the size of the bounty. That would be a nice system.

How do you prevent this from being abused and a get out of jail free card from concord?

If they didn't get a sec status low enough to get a bounty they wouldn't have a problem.

The new bounty system allows you to put bounties on ships.

Clearly CONCORD should not protect...ships...Roll

It would be really cool if you could come up with ideas that would make more people want to do PVP in highsec, not make it even more problematic. Don't get me wrong, this isn't a horrible idea at all, but if everyone in highsec is going to be able to shoot at you then it's probably prudent to balance it out by adding some kind of advantage to being a criminal.

Discouraging criminal gameplay through making game mechanics more penalizing will just make less people want to be criminals, which is bad.

The new bounty system is entirely independent of criminal flagging or standings.

Any player. Any ship.

The more I think about it the more I like this idea.

I want to put bounties on all Mackinaws so they lose CONCORD protection.

Yay. Profit.

this would render all highsec residents into outlawas within minutes after the patch

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

I was specifically referring to the idea of the OPs. I mean, if you're going to make it so you don't have concord protection in highsec if you have a bounty, then there sure as hell better be some damn good things you can do to people to get yourself a bounty to begin with.

I hate it when people say this.

Of course they care about EVE. It's what keeps them all employed! Just because you think you, in your infinite wisdom, know better than they do about how to manage their own game, doesn't make you correct. As pointed out already, there are flaws in your "idea".

I'd be fine with this change if it also includes a change to CONCORD that makes it as effective and bribeable as average real-life cops.

I wrote some true EVE stories! And no, they're not of the generic "my 0.0 alliance had lots of 0.0 fleets and took a lot of 0.0 space" sort. Check them out here:

99.9% of the players of EVE would have bounties on their heads if placing bounties removed CONCORD retaliation.

It's rather transparent that what you actually want is no CONCORD intervention for attacks in high-sec.
