Although I posses many righteous skills a black belt in google is not one of them. Can one of you gracious forumeers kindly link me to the maths behind the bumping mechanics?

Thank you

Thanks Bunny, I can always count on you for a well thought out and obviously non-troll comment. Honestly though its much more funny when you do it to other people. I know that much much but was hoping to find a mass + velocity / vector or some uch **** so I can theory craft a bumper-boat for good times.

Machariel.

Best mass to velocity ratio.

Now go bump people

What J'Poll said, it's pretty much the best bumping ship.

But I don't think there's any real math other than bigger ship going faster makes impacted ship move more

The best ever bump ship:

A cyno frigate really close to the station and tell the Moros to jump through.

As I understand it, it is simple elastic collision between two objects and their collision spheres. Like this: http://demonstrations.wolfram.com/ElasticCollisionsOfTwoSpheres/

It's hard to come up with real "numbers" for it since it is all so fluid and inexact, but it comes down to: the faster and more massive you are, the less you will be deflected. Among optimal combinations of these two factors are the Machariel, the Cynabal, and the Stabber plus its variants.

Keep in mind agility (strong point of the Mach and Cyna) is also important as it determines how well your ship turns and accelerates, which means fewer "misses".

Ok. So I'm over complicating this. The reason is that although I don't have much time to play I have a nifty fitting tool for my Android that uses the API to account for skills. I do more theory crafting than blowing stuff up and its honestly almost as much fun for those of us who enjoy the mental exercises.

Fine then. I'll make it simple. I can squeeze a 100MN MWD onto a thorax. It should take something like 35 sec to get all 62k tons up to the full 3.5k m/s but that should make for quite the bump. I'll post orca tears soons.

Your heart is in the right place Big smile

I used a 100mn mwd on a sleipnir, surprised the hell out of a guy in an amarr HAC that tried to run P

Sorry, but this popped into my mind:

[Zaphod] Hey, hey, get this number. Multicluster Quark drive with perspulax running boards! Hey, now this has got to be a Lazlar Lyricon custom job!

[Ford] Hey, I was passed by one of these mothers out by the Axel Nebula. I was going flat out and this thing just strolled past me, the star drive hardly ticked over! It was incredible!

[Zaphod] Too much!

[Ford] Ya, ten seconds later it smashed right into the third moon of Jaglan Beta.

[Zaphod] Hey, right?

[Ford] But a great-looking ship, though. Looks like a fish, moves like a fish, steers like a cow.

So fitting plates to increase your mass helps you bump more strongly?

how well would an oracle with a 100MN drive and 3 1600 plates do?
