The Mittens Dot Com - DUST and why don't EVE players care?

...I read this on the Mitten's page, and I have the answer to that at least for me...

I don't own a PS3, not going to own a PS3, and so can't play it... don't then care about it, and haresting tears isn't my thing... harvesting ore and building stuff is...

So, that's for me, don't know why the rest of EVE isn't jump at it, if as the article says we are all ignoring it... maybe others feel the same and have the same exculsionary issue of PS3... the mysteries of the universe it would see abound.

If I had a PS3 (which I might get) I would absolutely play it. I'm pretty excited for the interplay between DUST players and EVE players though I still think the bombardment effects are horrible. It's a great idea and maybe it will convince CCP to relaunch Incarna with actual gameplay.

If I had a PS3 I would try it. But I don't and I'm certainly not going to shell out that kind of money for a console just to play DUST. My friend owns a PS3 and I've tried to talk him into getting DUST. Hell, It took a lot of effort just to get him to look at it. He's a CoD guy who plays all the time.

After watching a few youtube videos, he said "pass". Playstation Network is really going to have to push the game on their online splash screen if they want to garner enough players.

I've been playing it when I can but the problem with it is there is nothing to keep me playing beyond an hour or so at a time. I prefere games that have plenty to do, but Dust isn't a game that is aimed at players like me.

In that case you will be interested in the industrial effects. When dust comes out you will have the chance to build not only starships and starship gear, but tanks and guns and dropships and body armor and god knows what else. The planets themselves may change in their significance as well; planetary products could get a lot more important. Probably.

They will also have an impact on your PI you produce on planets and CCP has mentioned potentially adding more things which we could find/harvest from planets.

(I personally hope this alludes to implant manufacturing).
