hello all im doing some exploration in gallente space and was thinking of using the cerb (got a while before i can use ishtar) trouble is its very slow and as some cap troubles so i read.
just wondering what your thoughts are on this is it worth me buying or should i just stick with the navy caracal that im using

im looking to run 4/10's to start with and some low sec anoms (the ones that show up on ship scanner) hoping for the to escalate

thank all in advance. Neo

Cerb its decent fo 0.0 ratting and plexing if you stay in guristas/serpentis areas.
Alot of ship will do the job better but with the cerberus its almost impossible to lose the ship to random roamers since you can stay well far away from the belt

I'm kind of surprised no one has mentioned a tengu yet. A cerberus is about half way to the cost of a a tengu, which would be much much better for what you want to be doing. If isk is an issue, a drake might be a better (albeit boring) option. The serpentis 4/10 requires you to kill a fair number of frigates, with a battleship tanked strongly against kinetic damage at the end.

Also, if you're already training for an ishtar, a Gila is a pretty good option as well.

In general the cerb is outclassed and junk.
Its worth it to use the tengu instead or most other hacs. With the up coming havy missile nerf, its dps will be even more pathetic
Caldari ship aside from tengu, are not to great.

cerb does not get that much over the navy caracal you are running now, imo.

Hell the navy crapacal gets a drone bay. Yeah its real tiny, but it is a drone bay lol.

I'd train the hac anyway for pvp if you go that route to have options. But even when I could fly hacs I still ran navy crapacals on roams tbh if in the markets out in the 0.0 home.

This and for winmatar the fleet stabber....ccp either hooked us up or screwed us. they made it so it doesn't reallly matter what you fly as either the navy t1 or t2 is viable. If a t2 must be better mindset, you got screwed. If you dig early access at a nice low cruiser 4 train, man you got the hook up lol.

Obligatory tengu for exploration inserted. Or gila for a drone boat if you like that route.

cerberus is a horrible ship....only thing it was designed for was sniping.

And its horrible at that aswell considering that before your missile has reached your target they are now skilled up to titans and the frigate you was aiming for is gone...infact downtime happens once every 24 hours so you wont actually hit the target anyway.

almost any other caldari ship is better except the caracal who is probably only ship worse then cerb.
Even a frigate would be better with just speedtanking.
